sometimes healing means outgrowing the coping mechanisms that kept you alive. that you'll mourn the armor even as you take it off. that survival skills expire. that the very things that saved you can become the things that trap you.

To love someone means:
You understand that feeling love is not enough. You have to do love. You have to give love in the way they need you to, not just in the way that is comfortable for you.
I hope to become the kind of person who can sit with uncomfortable emotions—mine and others'—without rushing to fix, minimize, or escape them. True healing happens in the presence of patient, non-judgmental witness.
