you dont sit long enough with an idea to fix the assumption/premise, so you sprint deep down a branch that was already wrong at the root.

I’d say the odds of Java 21 becoming the most consequential release of the decade are high. Loom is a game changer, our early ZGC gen test results are 🤯, records + pat matching will make the lang much more expressive, the vector API is finally closing an important gap 🔥🔥

The problem Twitter will have on the engineering side is they would need to hire experienced *software engineers*, going forward, but they will only get experienced coders/programmers/hackers.

They also only reward those approaches. Software engineering is longer term focused.

How do you estimate the team cost for a project? Don't. Create stable teams (a fixed cost). Replace project thinking w/ product thinking. What's the most important thing that moves the entire product forward? Do that. Bring work to the teams. Don't form teams to do the work.

All this noise leads me to admire NuBank even more. The only new fintech (crypto or other) that has successfully SCALED a complex risk management operation. In Brazil no less!

I believe the reason is risk management was always CORE to the DNA not a footnote in service of growth
