Young women's leadership has always been at the heart of my advocacy.
In 2024, the idea of an annual engagement bringing together a diverse audience of young women was conceptualized, culminating in the first edition of the Young Women’s Leadership Conference (YWLC). The event was convened in commemoration of International Women’s Day, in partnership with UNODC, NITDA, NYSC, NASENI, UNWomen and a host of others.
For the second edition, we went further by prioritising direct investment in selected participants. Beyond the main conference — headlined by Beyond Boundaries — 20 participants were selected for a Business and Leadership Development Training (sponsored by WRAPA with support from the MacArthur Foundation). Each of them received a grant of ₦500,000, which meaningfully expanded the scale and reach of their small and medium businesses.
Over 1,500 young women have so far been impacted and now, we are ready for the third edition.
YWLC ‘26 is scheduled to hold in Abuja on Tuesday, May 19, with the theme “Innovate, Influence, Impact: Accelerating Young Women's Roles in National Development.”
This year’s edition is being executed by @cltcnigeria in partnership with Eagles Foundation for Humanity.
Registration is now open. Visit https://t.co/a1D1H4RG0s to secure your place, in-person or online.
