Ethereum. Our Story
In the spring of 2018, my wife and I were returning home late one evening. It was still quite cold outside, and he was sitting right there on the wet pavement by the entrance—a tiny gray bundle, shivering with cold and fear. His eyes were huge, his ears were flattened, all wet and dirty. He was probably about six weeks old.
We stopped. He looked at us as if he'd been waiting for us for a long time. My wife crouched down, held out her hand, and despite his fear, he took a few hesitant steps toward her and meowed softly. At that moment, we realized there was no turning back.
We brought him home, washed him, wrapped him in a towel, and took turns keeping him warm all night. He was so small he fit in the palm of one hand. The next day, we took him to the vet for tests, vaccinations, and deworming. The vet said that if we had waited another day or two, it might have been too late. We came up with a name for him quickly. I was really into cryptocurrency at the time, and 2018 was a special year for Ethereum—the network was growing, everything was in full swing. We looked at this little fighter who had survived on the streets and found us, and simultaneously said, "Ethereum."
Eight years have passed since then.
Today, he's a big, beautiful, cheeky, and incredibly affectionate cat. His fur is thick, white and black with a silvery sheen—a true "ether." He still remembers that we saved him. Every morning, he greets me at my bedside, lies down on my chest, and purrs so loudly you could wake up the neighbors. When my wife is sad, he immediately goes to her, climbs into her arms, and nuzzles her face.
He's been with us through moves, through difficult times, through the pandemic, through everything. When the crypto market was crashing in 2018–2019 and I was getting upset, Ethereum (the cat) would come over, lie down next to me, and look at me as if to say, "Relax, human. The main thing is we're together. The rest will bounce back."
He's a true member of the family. He sleeps between us, steals socks, yells at the pigeons outside the window, demands to play at 4 AM, and meets me at the door after work like a dog.
Sometimes I look at him and think: a little stray kitten that no one would notice... but he became Ethereum for us. The most valuable asset in our lives.
And yes, when someone asks why the cat has such a strange name, I always answer:
"Because he's our bull run. Our main holding. And the most reliable asset in the world."
@BlueFostersHome@clarityactsol It's good that it came out yesterday, this idiot transferred everything to other wallets, his dev is empty and he's selling it 🤣

@Cristiano@selecaoportugal Ronaldo, you are a legend, thank you for my childhood. It's a pity that you ended your career. If you lost, it doesn't mean you're not a legend. Ronaldo, remember that, Grandpa and adults, if you lost something, be glad you didn't lose much. If you lost a lot, be glad you didn't
