Been reflecting a lot about my true personal values and what will give me security. I was taught that money = security, which is true, but the issue here is that money is an uncontrollable value. You can’t control it, economies collapse, jobs are automated

I feel like I’m v much a late bloomer - my “rebellious” phase of diverting from the values I was taught & not doing everything for parents’ approval is now manifesting in my mid-20s lol (which is also why #TurningRed hit me in my feels so much lol) :’)

@bartonsmith I’ve been feeling exactly this with both my career and life timeline. I’m now starting to realize that my inherent values may be different from what society/parents tell me to value, and that’s ok. For me, they’re curiosity, growth, balance, and nurturing
