@DaemonCorps@headfallsoff Yup, that's who conceived Patreon in the first place, Jack Conte. Unfortunately then they got a bunch of venture capital, and that tends to steer anything towards enshittification.
@_HeirToTheStars Great thread!
I had missed the (very likely) connection between Carta's boyband and Iznario. Woof.
As for the rest, YES. I didn't interact with fandom back when IBO aired and had no idea this read wasn't common or shared. McG believed in a Story... Like a child. And lost.
@jo_elster @dreamyreverie_3@sportswithjohn He looks like an awkward 15yo with a painted on goatee.
"Does your mum know you're burning your sister's dolls, young man?"
@clever_corvids oh hey, I just found out about your oneshot episode using A Scoundrel in the Deep! Happy to hear you had fun, and to see the game being played :)
Using it as a sort of "prequel episode" in the Blades was really smart. Thanks again :)
@fredvries For comparison: "dormire" (to sleep) becomes "dormiglione" (someone who regularly oversleeps), with a similar "move": the verb becomes a noun, and the modifier implies "messy and a lot" (kinda).
As you can tell, I'm no linguist 😁
@fredvries Hmm not really sure, but from the sound of the word, I would guess it derives from the verb "condire" (to season, commonly used for oil too), or some of its ancestors, with modifiers that make it sound "messy" and "a lot" (seasoned/oily AND messy).
People are ACTUALLY mad artists are protecting their art. They seriously thought they could just take it without us fighting back.
If you're concerned that it poisons your data to train on stolen works, then you should ask for permission first. It's really, really, simple folks.
Quick post just to say... unless the 3rd Party client APIs come back, I won't be on Twitter much (or ever) because the official client (and website) are just... bad.
Unclear if this is just an outage or just a Big Brain move by Muskrat, but... catch me on Mast0don if you want :)
Hi #portfolioday.
My name is stephanie Hans, I am a French cover artist, I have done hundreds of covers for most American comic books publishers.
I love strong characters and try to give them a lot of emotions and personnality.
A cover is never just an image, it’s a story.
@Highmoon@boymonster@MarkMeredith But also, back then it was Evil Hat "licensing" those games with the OGL. WotC wouldn't have any say about that.
Still, switching to the (much better written and actually designed to foster sharing) Creative Commons was a smart move.
