@woovingu2piem blue checkmark 🙄 imo 2x’s onstage antics are exactly like 2pm’s, but they get a lot more hate for queer baiting/what they’re wearing. the misogyny in that fandom is crazy
also those women have SUFFERED, not surprised about the ones leaving AT ALL
IMO, a lot of people don't have a worldview. For them, politics is about gender performance. Andrew Schulz fantasizes about joining the military to fight for his country, but won't set his thermostat to 78°. It's not about civic responsibility, but about performing machismo.
@taecachance also reminds me of that fairy tour ep where lee juck was like, “you can’t talk to wy like that, he performs at tokyo dome!” and jaehyung had no idea
kr perception of the group is so different
@taecachance i think it would have actually been bad publicity. “look at these arrogant people, thinking they can pull an audience like skz and twice at their age!”
whereas scarcity makes them look more popular
It is fascinating that Taylor Swift spent her whole career assuring everyone “I’m like you, I’m the girl next door, I’m so normal actually!!”
And post eras tour and Travis everything she does just screams “I’m rich!!! I need special things!!! I’m riiiichhhhhh”
@RobertSpearing9@SweetMelissa606@chi_urbanist came here to say not everyone down there works for the city, then remembered my ex’s dad was a mechanic and also did great. lots of well-paid skilled workers, so i stand corrected!
@SweetMelissa606@RobertSpearing9@chi_urbanist edgewater has lakewood balmoral but also loyola students and lots of young renters. north center has roscoe village, cubs players, and tech execs.
i’m more surprised at mt greenwood being on this list.
@MarkSavic@venturetwins problem is doordash shouldn’t be available in very low density areas. one time my friend waited 2+ hours for food bc the algo gave the driver another order 15 miles in the opposite direction while he was already on the way
tech has a lot of early retirement potential, but so many micro events have to align:
- right company
- at the right time
- for long enough
- with the right amount of options
- that you have to exercise
- and you actually have to IPO
- and sell the stock at its peak
@pieratt I've had front row seats to so many people making early-retirement money doing things that are almost indistinguishable from what I was doing, but somehow never pattern-match in exactly the right way it almost feels personal.
@w0rm_face thanks for this pov. we raise our kid like this (with more boundaries) and wonder how she’ll turn out. i recently brought her and her two friends to an art opening and the other artists let them play w/ leftover supplies. maybe the world in general has become more kid friendly
