It seems the racist royal family, Christian nationalism, salt bae, and Christ Jesus are all trending on twitter. For a second there, I thought I was back in 2019.
To my White brothers and sisters who are beginning to see, here are four questions that may help with your next steps for the long journey ahead. https://t.co/0PYHDRTD7l
God, forgive our habitual silence and our turning away from the least of these-the marginalized. As we do to the marginalized, we do to you. Here we are, Jesus; still denying we know you, hiding in self-preservation, watching you gasp for breath from a safe distance. #GeorgeFloyd
@JohnTEvans1 @pattylill Haha I am glad you have new relationships, and I too am sad I’m not there to be with you all. The book @pattylill recommenced is great. Let me know if you have any questions as you listen through it. I’d love to hear your perspective on it as well. Love you brother.
@JohnTEvans1 @pattylill ...the necessary holistic transformation. If you don’t find yourself around many people of color, go find them. If they’re not coming into our churches, ask why. Reorienting our lifestyles to be within proximity of people of color (to befriend them) is difficult, but catalytic.
There is no Godly morality without empathy. To “love our neighbor as ourselves” we must actually see our neighbor - if we don’t distinguish our differences, we will misapply what it means to love... Thoughts sparked by Melinda Gates’ new book. Highly recommend.
Oh hey, Twitter, long time no see. I’m not sure if your social media feed tends to look like mine, but I wrote something we used in Chapel this week @fullerseminary as a response to what's been filling up my feed. https://t.co/RiGX4qw5YF
