@mgeist@pablorodriguez Regardless of the legislation, people shouldn’t use search engines or social media when they want reliable news. They should go directly to their preferred and trusted media outlet.
@mgeist@pablorodriguez With all due respect Michael, I disagree with you on that one. For once, the Canadian government had the balls to confront the GAFAMs and establish the rules. This legislation will benefit Canadian media. And the rest of the world will follow suit and adopt similar legislation.
@novogratz As a Canadian, I feel ashamed that my southern friends haven’t evolved in that regard. This clearly demonstrates how the US is a country of extremes.

The country of El Salvador gets all the attention as being the first country to adopt #bitcoin, but it’s important to know that there is a small team, in a small village, that sparked all this. Those people don’t get the recognition they deserve. This thread brings more context.
Francis Pouliot, "People have been "de-responsiblized" so much the idea of controlling your money is very daunting."
#Bitcoin brings personal responsibility back.

@Dearan89@kavanagh_clare@tim_cook You’re right, but government should represent the people, not corporations, so if people put enough pressure in their government, they will tax big tech accordingly. Long ways to in the US and Canada on that front.
