Lucas Franks is moving back west to Edmonton and will be suiting up for The King's University Eagles in the upcoming 2024-2025 season.
Please welcome our newest international staff addition Maksym Papacz !
He is a basketball player development coach and an assistant coach for @WKS_SlaskBasket from Poland where he most recently won a bronze medal at the Polish League 1. He has been in the business since 2014.
Over the years, he established his own brand, and now he leads many youth and professional athletes. His path leads through a few big basketball brands in Poland.
Maksym ran several coaching academies for Polish Basketball Assciation (SMOK, Coches License Course Dolny Slask).
Maksym will work closely with our coaching staff while he continues his pro duties in Poland.
Last season, he had the opportunity to work with many international basketball players, such as Jawun Evans, Angel Nunes and Marek Klassen from Canada. His top client is Aleskander Dziewa, who’s playing in the German BBL League and EuroCup.
Maksym also has an international experience. In the years 2016–2018, he was coach for the New York Knicks Summer Camps (JrNBA) and obtained a USABasketball Coach License in 2018.
He started his journey in Polish second division at Gornik Walbrzych, trying to get promotion to a Polish top league. In his two seasons, he has won two silver medals. The next two seasons, he was Head of Player Development for EuroCup team WKS Slask Wroclaw.
