Utah county residents are demanding accountability after police forcibly removed a woman from a council meeting where officials unanimously approved a controversial data centre rule without public comment.
The woman reportedly suffered a concussion and facial injuries.
People often wonder why more good people don’t go into politics. Well, in large part, it’s because of things like what Vivek Ramaswamy did to his opponent Amy Acton. Ads like the one he put out are simply disgusting. They are examples of gutter politics, of trying to paint opponents in the most degrading light.
The ad that he and his campaign produced, endorsed, and are standing behind tells you everything about his character, or lack thereof. It tells you how low he will go. It tells you all you need to know about the kind of politician he is. I do not use the word leader because this is not the behavior of a leader.
We in this country have the opportunity in these midterm elections to elect leaders of character, of compassion, of integrity. Who treat their opponents with respect, with regard for them their history, for their families.
The good people of Ohio know gutter politics when they see it. The people of this country are going to throw men like this to the curb where they belong. May they can sit there and reflect on their behavior. They definitely shouldn’t be sitting behind a desk in a state capital or in our nation’s capital. End of story
Amy Acton grew up facing real challenges, and she knows what it means to work hard and build a better future.
As governor, I know she’ll always lead with compassion and integrity as she fights for Ohio families like hers. Join me in standing with Amy Acton today. Visit https://t.co/qmP8JEWgkb to chip in to her campaign. @amyactonoh
Trump doesn’t think Ukrainians should decide their own future. He thinks Putin should. It’s a disgrace, and it's a familiar refrain that Trump cares more about Putin’s approval than Ukrainian lives.
$234M of outside money is pushing Ken Paxton, more than any candidate in America this year. A third of it is one man. A sixth of it is from donors nobody is allowed to see.
The bombshell campaign ad that Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy intended as an October surprise against Democrat Amy Acton has indeed exploded.
Early indications are that it did so in Ramaswamy’s own face. https://t.co/Go5alHUNtq
AIPAC is now spending as much as $9 million against Abdul El-Sayed.
AIPAC is why we’re at war in Iran.
AIPAC is why the U.S. has supported genocide in Gaza.
We must say NO to AIPAC.
YES to electing Abdul as Michigan’s next U.S. Senator.
Due to the recent attack ads in Ohio by the Ramaswamy campaign I am donating the maximum allowable by law to Amy Acton.
I’m a life long Republican
I don’t know @amyactonoh or her policies and frankly I don’t care.
Some things are bigger than party.
"Ordinarily, moving historical items within the building is a deliberate process overseen by curators. Hegseth’s staff dispatched its own team to relocate an Eisenhower globe. They dropped it...The resulting gash appears to be several inches wide."
https://t.co/ylWValuGzA
Meanwhile....Pete Hegseth demanded that Eisenhower's globe be brought into his office, despite warnings that due to its delicate nature, only historians trained with handling artifacts should handle it.
Despite the warnings, he demanded his assistant bring it to his office.
He dropped it and broke it.
What an idiot.
"I think it was a horrible and hideous thing to do, a sad thing, and I feel like it was an exploitative thing to do. My mother is not well."
Ohio gubernatorial candidate Democrat Amy Acton is slamming her opponent Republican Vivek Ramaswamy after his campaign put out an attack ad with her estranged mother calling her a "liar." Acton says she has not seen her birth mother since she was 12, adding that she and her brother "experienced extreme abuse and neglect over a period of many years" at the hands of her mother and stepfather.
Trump’s goal is to intimidate me and get me to back down.
That’s not going to happen.
I will not be silenced, and I will not stop fighting for my constituents.
These types of machine errors are being reported in states across the country. Make sure to DOUBLE CHECK YOUR PRINTED BALLOT to make sure it has the names of the candidates you selected BEFORE YOU SUBMIT IT. If not, ask a poll officer for a new one.
They broke Eisenhower’s globe because they didn’t want to wait for a team of specialist historians to move it.
I cannot think of a more apt metaphor for Pete Hegseth’s DoD.
🚨NEWS: Pete Hegseth wanted a priceless World War II-era globe used by Dwight Eisenhower displayed in his Pentagon office, but instead of waiting for professional curators, his staff attempted to move the historic artifact themselves and DROPPED IT, puncturing the globe near Antarctica and breaking its mounting, according to The Washington Post. The Pentagon confirms the damage.
Vivek Ramaswamy made false promises about the success of a drug that had already failed four trials to line his own pockets. But it wasn’t just the patients and their families who suffered because of his lies.
Ohio teachers and public pensions lost nearly $2 million because they trusted Vivek Ramaswamy’s word.
We cannot trust him to put Ohioans first. https://t.co/yKssRjoJN6
Shawn Fain is right. It is an outrage that GM is spending $20 billion on stock buybacks to enrich its wealthy shareholders, while 80% of its autoworkers no longer have a pension or retiree health benefits.
That $20 billion should be going to workers, not Wall Street executives.
