Students have been forced to pay an estimated £1 billion this year for accommodation they aren't able to use.
That's such blatant exploitation.
It's time universities & the government heeded @RentStrikeNow's demands: Refund rents & offer contract releases. Now.
Is it any surprise that a chancellor earning a house worth of wages every year can't see the importance of affordable rents?
Reduced rents for all students now!
The university is quick to tell us that they care for our mental health, yet they still enforce financial pressures during a pandemic.
Mindfulness won't pay our extortionate rents.
The student movement is growing and so are we! Help us expand so that we can channel the incredible rent strike momentum into a broader, radical movement against tuition fees and towards a vision of free, democratised education. Pls RT!

This group of Vice Chancellors reckon suspending interest on student loans would ease the pressure on students through the crisis. 🙄
👎 What an insult.
We need:
🟢 A complete write-off of student debt
🟢 Living grants for all
🟢 And free education now!

Students let down throughout the pandemic, poor support for self-isolation and mental health, staff cuts, high rents, and paying for rooms that have had more use as storage lockers.
We shouldn't accept being treated like this:
RENT STRIKE NOW!
