Just months after beginning his attempt to remove transgender youth from their families, Texas AG Ken Paxton attempted to compile a list of every transgender person in the state who had changed the gender marker on their driver's license. No one knows why. https://t.co/uSkLYF1oLF
Suicide comes from deep pain, agony, and despair where one knows no other way but to end their own life. The idea that it's selfish creates so much stigma. We need to stop judging and start understanding how people get to this emotional rock bottom.
@difficultpatty I hate that it only took 6 words—“I was polite to a dude”—for me to know instantly that something scary & possibly dangerous was going to happen to you. I read “I was polite to a dude” and instinctively thought “oh shit, what’s about to happen to her” I’m so infuriated & so sorry
One of the hardest things to explain to people without ADHD:
• when it’s interesting, I can start on it
• when it’s uninteresting, I can’t
Note that the second one is not “I don’t want to.” I literally CAN’T.
I have to convince my brain it is interesting to even get started.
I’m establishing that my understanding of who you are is more important than your understanding of who you are.
I’m establishing my license to permit you to exist.
I'm establishing my supremacy over you as a natural right.
I am attempting to impose a reality founded on that belief, under which I am the one who gets to define you, and your right to exist is not a foregone conclusion but something that will be established and mediated by what I and other people who matter are comfortable allowing.
Say your name is Joe.
You believe your name is Joe because that’s your name.
I insist your name is Jean because I believe I have the right to name you because of who I understand myself to be, and you do not have the right to name yourself because of who I understand you to be.
there’s no funnier caricature of masculinity than the Him from “holiday gifts for him.” he doesn’t drink any liquid but whiskey. he’s got 20 watches on each wrist. if he saw a single texture other than leather he would throw one of his pocket knives at it.
Autists and ADHD’ers may quickly fall into emotional spirals when their brain applies its abundant activity to a triggering situation. When this happens, it can be easy to become consumed by: grief, longing, anxiety, low self-esteem, imposter syndrome and other tough experiences.
@davenewworld_2@JohannesTEvans I know what will get people to stop stealing, make things MORE expensive! Ha yeah, like before u threatened that “I” was stealing for shits & giggles, not b/c of anything ludicrous like the items double what it should be, I can’t afford it, & literally need it to live. Get bent W
One of the cruelest things about Autistic/ADHD masking is that you learn to treat positive emotions as a warning sign that you're about to do something "wrong" and that it is therefore "safest for everyone" if you maintain a constant, low-key negative internal emotional state.
@QueerwolFagDyke @hyggeandpuppies & this is yrs later. I’m nearly 29 now Havent seen a cardiologist in yrs. As a foolhardy young college student I yearned for freedom from a lifelong cardiologist appt & jumped @ the chance to be “symptom free” I’ve survived fine in the yrs since but always wonder what was missed
@QueerwolFagDyke @hyggeandpuppies a yr later on T & symptoms ended entirely. Am very curious if it was POTS & undiagnosed. Ps T does wonders for low blood pressure lol. If I’d never started T I think POTS might be where I’d be today. 🧐
