Right now, federal agencies are encouraged to spend every cent allocated to them with almost no oversight as to where that money is going. My bill, the Bonuses for Cost Cutters Act, broadens the existing rewards program for federal employees who uncover fraud. A big win for American taxpayers!
I was honored to speak today at the Atlantic Council and KHNP Conference. In partnership with the Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power (KHNP), I spoke about the great relationship between the US and South Korea. The US-ROK civil nuclear relationship will continue evolving and strengthening our strategic partnership.
It was great to see the @WhiteHouse has awarded @TVAnews competitive funding from the @ENERGY. This critical investment will help TVA keep sites like the Cumberland Fossil Plant running smoothly and increases overall energy production. This is great news for families and growing businesses in our region!

Eighty-two years ago today, Allied forces launched the liberation of Europe.
We will always remember the heroes of D-Day and their sacrifices to preserve our freedom.
Busy week marking up several Appropriations bills, passing the Benton MacKaye Act, meeting tons of constituents, and most importantly, representing YOU in Congress. I'll see you all next week!
It was a pleasure to join several key leaders from across the world at the 2026 Washington Energy Summit! As Chairman of the Energy & Water Appropriations Subcommittee, strengthening America’s energy infrastructure continues to be a top priority.
An @NNSANews team from Los Alamos National Lab, in collaboration with the @AUB_Lebanon Medical Center and the Lebanese government, has successfully removed the last cesium-137 blood irradiator from Lebanon! I applaud the work of both of these institutions, making our world a safer place. This is a vital step in denying our adversaries access to a dangerous material. https://t.co/4Ue6yV9Qbd
I appreciated meeting with @ENERGY’s I-Corps team from @ORNL here in Washington. It was great to talk about their work, bringing the innovative tech from the lab to the private sector. Their efforts keep America on the cutting edge of modernization. I’m proud to support them in Congress.
🚨@NNSAWilliams joined @RepChuck at @ORNL to break ground on the Advanced Testbed and Operational Learning Laboratory, or ATOLL.
The 21,000-square-foot facility will provide critical capabilities for NNSA nonproliferation programs while enabling advanced research, testing, and technology development across a broad range of enrichment technologies.
Within ATOLL, national laboratory researchers will gain hands-on experience in uranium enrichment, growing a new generation of the expertise America needs to secure energy dominance and remain the global leader in nuclear nonproliferation.

I enjoyed meeting with @NationalCouncil. Always appreciate the opportunity to discuss the significance of mental health and explore ways to improve outcomes in Tennessee and beyond.
I was glad to meet with the Alzheimer’s Association and discuss the importance of global research and reducing risk. Working together is essential to supporting those impacted by Alzheimer's. #ENDALZ
Thank you to the Nuclear Energy and National Security Coalition for putting on such an important forum. It was a pleasure to discuss how we can shift US reliance away from foreign supply chains and secure American energy dominance through domestic means. I look forward to working together to ensure that America has a brighter, stronger, and more prosperous future.
🥾@RepChuck's "Benton MacKaye National Scenic Trail Feasibility Study Act of 2026," amends the National Trails System Act to authorize a study on the feasibility of designating the Benton MacKaye Trail, which runs through Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina, as a National Scenic Trail.
The Benton MacKaye Trail is long overdue for recognition as a National Scenic Trail. This critical distinction will bring better resources and maintenance to a wonderful and heavily used alternative to the Appalachian Trail. Watch my remarks from the House Floor on this important first step here:
The House is beginning up to 40 mins of debate on H.R. 2768 – Benton MacKaye National Scenic Trail Feasibility Study Act of 2025, as amended (Sponsored by @RepChuck / Natural Resources Committee).
It was great to participate in the groundbreaking for this important demonstration of these tremendous partnerships advancing U.S. national security. The Advanced Testbed and Operations Learning Laboratory (ATOLL) being built here at ORNL will provide the cutting edge scientific facilities needed to perform critical nonproliferation missions, as the ability to monitor foreign nuclear production and weapons activities is essential to our national defense.
