Chuck Fleischmann

The Nuclear Congressman. Proudly serving Tennessee's third district.

Exciting to see the Navy investing in next-generation American energy right here at home. By deploying advanced nuclear microreactors at NWS Crane, we’re strengthening our national defense, creating good jobs, and keeping our military at the cutting edge. https://t.co/DNt0hPbYZi

[ORAU @orau]

We were honored to have Deputy Secretary of Energy James P. Danly & @RepChuck at ORAU’s Next Steps for the Nuclear Workforce event Tues, Oct 20. Read more: https://t.co/x6Sf5lZNyv

Proud to deliver for Chattanooga! As someone who practiced law here for over 20 years and served as Bar President, I know how much this new federal courthouse means to our community. Alongside @SenatorHagerty, I fought to secure funding and ensure this project honors our city’s legacy of justice, safety, and architectural beauty. I look forward to seeing this new building serve our citizens for generations to come.

Today, I joined Deputy Secretary Danly to highlight ORISE's national impact and recognize our region as a leader in energy, science, and skilled trades. Through the Appropriations Committee, I have secured key investments in the workforce and education pipelines that are fueling the economic engines of new nuclear and reindustrialization. Together, we’re building pathways to rewarding careers and ensuring a brighter future for our communities here in East TN and across America.

Glad to meet with the Oak Ridge Knoxville Building and Construction Trades Council to discuss their key role in supporting East Tennessee’s nuclear renaissance. These workers are the backbone of our region, and I'm grateful for their leadership and commitment to our future.

[Chuck Fleischmann @RepChuck]

I had the privilege of opening the US-France Bilateral Energy Partnership Business Roundtable. Our nations share a long history of cooperation on nuclear energy and this partnership will serve as a pillar for our nuclear renaissance. I look forward to continuing our work together as we build a future powered by clean, reliable energy for our homes, economies, and national security.

It was another great day for East Tennessee. I was pleased to speak at the groundbreaking for the new Southpoint Business Park in Sweetwater. This exciting project will welcome new businesses and create thousands of high-paying jobs for our region. When government unleashes entrepreneurs and invests in our communities, we see real progress for Tennessee families.

[Chuck Fleischmann @RepChuck]

Honored to join @ENERGY, @StateDept, and French diplomats in Oak Ridge, where @Orano_usa is planning the most advanced uranium enrichment plant in the U.S. A major project that will power America, create jobs in TN, and reduce our dependence on Russian uranium. I will always champion innovation and secure our energy future.

#GovCon26 Highlights DAY 1 ✅

Over the next five days, we’re revisiting the moments that made #GovCon26 one to remember. First up: the Commissioner’s Luncheon, where we explored Chattanooga’s past, Tennessee’s present and the opportunities shaping our future.

The afternoon featured remarks from Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly, @UTChattanooga Chancellor Lori Mann Bruce, @Jobs4_TN Commissioner Deniece Thomas and @RepChuck, along with a look at Chattanooga’s history from Historian Linda Moss Mines.

@BCG's Tejus Kothari and Claudia Newman-Martin closed out the luncheon with insights from the TBLC’s Tennessee Economic Competitiveness Project, exploring the forces shaping the future of work and what it will take for Tennessee to remain competitive, lead in the jobs and industries of the future and create opportunity for generations to come.👏

[Oak Ridge Lab @ORNL]

Exciting news: High school students will work alongside researchers at ORNL, @INL, and @PNNL as part of @Battelle’s new Genesis Mission High School Fellowship.

I was honored to join @TVAnews for an important event celebrating the progress we’re making on energy infrastructure right here in Tennessee. Thanks to the strong partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, we’re seeing real results, like the Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnerships (GRIP) grant, which brings together nine of our Local Power Companies, and the SPARK grant, which accelerates power delivery through cutting-edge transmission technologies and critical upgrades.

These investments are vital to strengthening grid reliability, modernizing energy infrastructure, and meeting the growing needs of families and businesses across our region. As Chairman of Energy and Water Appropriations, I will always fight for policies that keep energy reliable, affordable, and accessible for Tennesseans and our neighbors. Our commitment to a bright energy future is stronger than ever.

It was a privilege to tour Southern Adventist University and connect with students and faculty! I enjoyed thoughtful conversations at the School of Social Work.

Touring the School of Engineering with Dean Tyson Hall was a true highlight. The passion and curiosity of students preparing for careers in nuclear energy and engineering made it clear that the future is bright at Southern.

My meeting with the Office of Ministry and Missions was equally inspiring. The dedication of students preparing to share their faith and serve communities around the globe exemplifies the spirit of service and leadership that defines Southern.

Thank you @SouthernNews!

The Battelle-Genesis Mission High School Fellowship is teaming up with National Laboratories to develop future scientists. This initiative demonstrates our country’s strong commitment to our students and a bright energy future. I look forward to seeing their success! https://t.co/9uHg56BqIb

[Family Research Council @FRCdc]

A new @thecentersquare poll finds 55% of Americans are concerned about Democratic Socialists winning their elections.

"100% of the American electorate should be concerned," reacts @RepChuck, "because the two terms don't go together."

It is always a pleasure to meet with the ETEC community! Meetings like this enable me to keep America at the forefront of the nuclear renaissance.

[East TN Economic Council (ETEC) @ETEC_tn]

A strong turnout as ETEC welcomed @RepChuck this morning! Thank you for joining our members, and thanks to @orau for sponsoring October’s Friday Morning Meetings. #ETECcommunity

Great meeting with the staff at Orano-USA and to discuss the progress with Project IKE. Enriched uranium will play a huge role in helping fuel our future and why East Tennessee is at the center of this nuclear renaissance.

[Chuck Fleischmann @RepChuck]

I was proud to be invited to Amentum’s Global Nuclear Headquarters ribbon cutting in Oak Ridge. Amentum has been a valuable part of the environmental cleanup mission here that has restored and transformed this land into the epicenter of America’s nuclear renaissance. This new headquarters is a testament to the vital role Oak Ridge is playing in this new nuclear age and a commitment by Amentum to the long term sustainability of our area.

I was glad to speak with county and city mayors from across this area at Thrive's 2026 Tri-State Summit. This opportunity to hear more about the issues facing our local governments, whether they be small towns or big cities, and hear from peers about solutions working in their communities is vital to our region's continued success. As TN’s appropriator in the House, events like this help me when making difficult decisions with finite budgets, and I was honored to take part in this forum.
