Accepting the expansion is a no-brainer. I hope my Republican colleagues will finally do the fiscally responsible thing and support this bill to make our state, the Badger State, stronger.
It's win for Wisconsin taxpayers and a win for the tens of thousands of individuals who will be newly covered under the expansion by receiving access to affordable, high-quality health care.

BREAKING: Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin will resume abortion care services on Monday, September 18th at the Water Street Health Center in Milwaukee, and the Madison East Health Center.
Proud to co-author a bill introduced today to increase the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). EITC reduces the tax burden for working families with kids and is one of the best tools we have for workers to join the middle class.
I just released legislation alongside @SenKeldaRoys, @StateSenLaTonya, and @RepDanielRiemer to increase Wisconsin's Earned Income Tax Credit. These increases will encourage work and reduce poverty, especially among children.
Ultimately, the Republican budget does not meet the needs of Wisconsin citizens or represent our state's values, and therefore, it did not earn my vote. (6/6)
While Democrats’ budget initiatives would have promoted access to healthcare, bolstered our workforce, supported veterans, and funded our public schools, Republicans failed Wisconsin yesterday by passing a budget that rejects these initiatives. (1/6)
They failed Wisconsin by refusing to invest in veterans and their loved ones– choosing to reject funding programs like the UW MIA Identification and Recovery Project and the Veterans Outreach and Recovery Program. (5/6)
The U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization (597 U.S. 2022) was bad:
Bad legal reasoning;
Bad for women;
Bad for families;
Bad for America.
It’s as bad today as it was a year ago.
These proposals would provide the Guard with a modernized case management system, prohibit officers in positions of training authority from engaging in sexual activities with their trainees, and bring the Wisconsin Code of Military Justice more closely in line with federal law.
Last summer, I served on a study committee to reform sexual misconduct procedures in the Wisconsin National Guard. I was happy to see three bills that we recommended receive a public hearing this week: https://t.co/3xK3GWd9ok
I had a great time meeting with inquisitive, bright students from Honey Creek Elementary as they toured the Capitol, learned about state government, and had an exciting debate about recess and school lunches on the Assembly floor yesterday. Thank you for stopping by!
On the tour, we had the opportunity to hear stories of veterans with ties to our districts, such as Sophia Keller, who served in West Allis as a Yeomanette in the US Naval Reserve Force during WWI: https://t.co/mxb9aKwigZ
Yesterday, I was honored to tour the Wisconsin Veterans Museum's Archival collection with fellow member of the Assembly Committee on Veterans and Military Affairs, @RepRatcliff.
A huge thank you to the Wisconsin Veterans Museum Foundation and all the dedicated staff who work hard to preserve and share the histories of men and women who have served in uniform throughout our nation's history!
We must invest in our children's future and our own by making sure this program continues! You can help amplify this message and vocalize your support for Child Care Counts by signing this petition: https://t.co/IsxAutUt5h (3/3)
Child care programs are essential for countless Wisconsin families, including mine. Access to quality, affordable child care means that parents can go to work or school while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of their children. (1/3)
With federal money for the Child Care Counts program set to expire in 2024, Governor Evers has proposed a $340 million investment into Child Care Counts, which would directly fund operations of child care providers and help them retain quality staff. (2/3)
