I am very excited to announce that I am officially on the ballot for reelection in 2026! I am looking forward to getting back on the campaign trail and continuing to work with the citizens of Malden and Medford on local issues in the next 2 years!
On Sunday, I was honored to attend a Garden Dedication with Malden Ward 7 Councillor Chris Simonelli. This garden is planted in memory of Susan Thomson, Bailie Weiss, and Karen Anderson for all of the wonderful work they have done for the Malden community.
On May 15, I was honored to attend the Memorial Service for Deceased Members and Dedication of the new Medford Police Memorial at Oak Grove Cemetery. Thank you to the Medford Police Department for the continued hard work you do to keep our community safe!
Monday, May 18th, was the Medford Kiwanis Scholarship Night! This year Medford Kiwanis presented three college bound Medford seniors each with $1500 scholarships! Best of luck on your future endeavors!
On Thursday, May 14th, I had the honor of accepting The Champion for Children award at the Children’s League of Massachusetts Advocacy Day. I am so proud of the work the Family Resource Center’s have done over the years and I look forward to continuing to collaborate!
May is Violence Prevention Month in Massachusetts! Yesterday I attended the Portal to Hope Forum at Everett City Hall to discuss the important topic of domestic violence with EVAPorate Violence of the Everett Police Department, Portal to Hope, and Representative McGonagle.
Yesterday was the American Red Cross Blood Drive at the State House where I am pictured here giving blood, something I have been doing for many years! Thank you to the Red Cross for all of the continued work you do to support the residents of Massachusetts!
This month of May is National Foster Care Awareness Month with the third week officially declared as Foster Care Alumni Week! Yesterday I met with Sue and Tiffanie of the Massachusetts Network of Foster Care Alumni to celebrate this proclamation. Thank you for all that you do!
I attended the Cambridge Health Alliance delegation meeting at the State House. This was a great opportunity to engage with local leaders and discuss the critical role of public health in our community.
On Thursday, April 2nd I was honored to attend Special Olympics Massachusetts Day at the State House. Special Olympics is a phenomenal organization that continues to make a positive impact by promoting self confidence, physical fitness and health, and inclusion.
Last Tuesday, April 7th, I attended the Medford Kiwanis Hunger Grant Event at Saint Raphael’s Parish. This event involved cooking meals to eventually hit a goal of donating 10000 meals to the elderly and homeless.
Last Wednesday, April 1st, I attended the Housing Families Legislative Breakfast at Anthony’s of Malden, and was very honored to accept the Housing Hero award. Affordable housing is a critical issue and is essential to assisting families and the greater community.
Yesterday I attended the Mystic Valley Elder Services annual Legislative Breakfast. This year for FY27 I am requesting 19.2 million dollars in funding for the Elder Nutrition line item, a 5.8 million dollar increase from the governor’s proposal.
This past Friday, March 27th, I attended a lunch with the Medford delegation hosted by Jenny Graham of the Medford School Committee. This event was used to discuss the prospect of building a new Medford High School, and was a great way to talk about future plans for our schools!
Last Thursday, March 12th, I attended a ribbon cutting and open house for Guidelight Health in Medford. This was a great opportunity to connect with the greater Medford community and to talk about the importance of mental health!
This past Wednesday March 11th I attended the Portal to Hope Legislative Luncheon held at the Medford Police Department! This was a great opportunity to engage with the Portal of Hope and the Police Department about the very serious issue of domestic violence in the Commonwealth.
Today I had the opportunity to attend a press conference to welcome Boston’s new National Women’s Soccer team, the Boston Legacy as part of the National Women’s Soccer League! Their season kicks off Saturday March 14th at 12:30 at Gillette Stadium against Gotham FC of New York!
This past Friday March 6th, I had the opportunity to read to first grade students at Roberts Elementary School while they participated in Read Across America! This was a great way to celebrate reading across our community with a group of very engaging students!
Yesterday I attended the Asian Community Development Corporation Donuts with Delegates Event in Malden with Representative Steven Ultrino. We had the great opportunity of discussing issues of affordable housing and community development with Malden High School student leaders.
Today I was honored to speak at District Local Technical Assistance (DLTA) Day at the State House along with my colleague Senator James Eldridge. DLTA funds many technical projects throughout the Commonwealth and is essential to our cities and towns.
