Six months ago, I testified before the House Agriculture Committee to share a stark warning: If the Administration and Congress didn't move quicker to deploy resources and properly invest in eradicating the New World Screwworm, this invasive pest will make its way to Texas and devastate America's ranchers.

The Administration's failure to listen to the experts on the ground early on will now raise costs on both ranchers and consumers.

ICYMI: At this year's NINOS Inc. training conference, I recognized the invaluable work early childhood educators do to provide our youngest South Texans in Cameron and Willacy Counties with the tools they need to succeed.

The first five years of a child's life can shape the next fifty. That's why I'm proud to have secured over $27 million for NINOS Head Start and will continue fighting to ensure every child gets a strong start in life!

Mexico is the United States’ largest trading partner, accounting for about $1.7 million worth of goods every minute. Yet, ongoing uncertainty around a USMCA renewal is already costing South Texas businesses money.

To rebuild confidence in USMCA, Mexico must make good on its promises, including delivering the water South Texas farmers are rightfully owed under the 1944 Water Treaty.

Corpus Christi Army Depot is losing high-skilled jobs due to the Army’s increasing reliance on private companies for repair work.

@RepMichaelCloud and I are working to protect CCAD's military readiness and bring more transparency into the Army's maintenance and overhaul process.

Sixty one years ago, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act into law. Today, extremists in Washington are hellbent on eroding these protections and turning the clock back on freedom.

Why? To rig the system and stay in power.

As faculty and staff at @BrownsvilleISD's Dr. Ruben Gallegos Elementary School prepare for another successful school year, I surprised our educators with an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol.

This Administration is using hyperaggressive ICE raids to detain and deport hardworking medical professionals, nuns, construction and hospitality workers, DACA recipients, and more who are simply pursuing a better future for themselves and their families.

I signed a bipartisan discharge petition to force a House vote on the American Dream and Promise Act, which would provide eligible Dreamers an earned pathway to citizenship.

These individuals make significant contributions to our communities and have done everything the law has asked of them. Permanent protections are long overdue.

One in four Texas kids go hungry.

Instead of helping our children get the food they need to grow and thrive, the Administration's so-called "One Big Beautiful Bill" enacted the largest cut to SNAP benefits in American history.

This past weekend, the Apache Ndé Nation held a, “Blessing of the Chiefs” ceremony, for the second time in history since 1747, to spread the message of reconciliation, respect and unity among tribal nations.

During the ceremony, #TeamGonzalez had the honor of recognizing the Apache Chiefs and the Apache Ndé Nation with a U.S. Flag flown over our nation’s Capitol and a Congressional Recognition!

Instead of focusing on the deportation of violent criminals—something we can all agree on—this Administration’s hyperaggressive ICE raids are targeting honest, hardworking individuals who build our communities.

I had a great discussion with the Texas Credit Union Association about the importance of expanding access to reliable financing across South Texas. As our region continues to grow, ensuring families and businesses can obtain financial services is critical to strengthening our economy.

We also talked about my recent work to advance the STOP Payments Fraud Act through the House Financial Services Committee. This legislation gives banks additional tools to stop scammers by placing temporary holds on suspicious checks and wire transfers before any fraud can occur.
