Former Rep. Jared Polis proudly represented Colorado's 2nd Congressional District from Jan. 2009 - Jan. 3, 2019. Dad. Entrepreneur. Educator. Rockies fan.
Today was my last full day as a member of Congress! It has been the honor of my life to work for the people of Northern Colorado. Thank you for the tremendous opportunity you have given me to serve our country these last ten years.
📸 Wish you were here! @NASAInSight sent home its first photo after #MarsLanding:
InSight’s view is a flat, smooth expanse called Elysium Planitia, but its workspace is below the surface, where it will study Mars’ deep interior.
We cannot continue to be a beacon of liberty and freedom, if we tear gas children and families at the border. Asylum-seekers aren’t the enemy, and they have rights under our laws. https://t.co/S7udCntcwP
The Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program is being stalled, leaving public servants nationwide waiting and unsure if they will be able to make ends meet. I have and will continue to press Sec. DeVos and President Trump for answers. https://t.co/rkuDADmejs
Dreamers are just like you & me. They too have hopes and dreams, except many of them also live with constant fear, not knowing if they’ll be deported to a country they don’t know with a language they may not even speak. https://t.co/CDz6uU8dyY
We all can learn a lot from veterans, especially during divided times. Veterans are diverse- all races, all political affiliations, genders, and generations. But nearly every veteran has a sense of camaraderie and fellowship with other veterans.
Too often, we wake up to the news of yet another mass shooting. When are we going to wake up to the fact that we have a nationwide problem with gun violence? It’s past time for Congress to act on bipartisan proposals that respect the Second Amendment *and* enhance public safety.
Any rollback of protections for people with pre-existing conditions would be devastating. Whether people are on the exchange or getting health care through an employer – nobody should ever be denied because of a pre-existing condition.

In memory of everyone we lost on Saturday, let us choose the way of compassion and reject hate. I call on all Americans to co-exist in the spirit of brotherly and sisterly love, and to settle our differences through words and understanding, not violence. https://t.co/RoRPvNHtsx
As if skiing, snowboarding, hiking, snowshoeing, fishing, biking, and climbing were not enough reason to cherish and protect our environment and public lands - outdoor fun is an ever-growing economic boon for Colorado.

Everyone always hears about political gridlock and discord. I’m here to tell you that it’s still possible to make a difference! Here’s the story of how we created a new law to improve safety for emergency responders. https://t.co/wZKNoiRFqh
Political freedom is sacred in the United States. That is why we must unite against terrorism and acts of violence. The most effective way we can do that is by respecting one another - and choosing our freedom and liberty above our differences.

One of the most fulfilling things I do as your Representative is cut through bureaucracy and red tape to help people. It was my sincere privilege to have helped Betty finally get her long-overdue VA survivor benefits. https://t.co/aMvfjTj0VM
