Hey Cougar Community! 🌟 This morning, Madison County Transit (MCT) celebrated the ribbon-cutting for the brand-new MCT Yellowhammer Connector! This beautiful bike path now connects our campus to the scenic MCT Trails. You'll definitely want to check it out!
Our team had a great visit with IMA member Sev-Rend High-Performance Packaging in Collinsville earlier today where we joined with @SenatorHarriss & @RepKatieStuart in presenting them with an ETIP reimbursement grant on behalf of the @IllinoisDECO. https://t.co/xfqhMCpsIh
BIG smiles for Give Kids a Smile Day! Today, the SIU School of Dental Medicine provided free dental treatment and plenty of smiles! We're proud to serve our community by offering access to care for those who may struggle to find comprehensive dental services.
Thank you @RepKatieStuart for securing a $25 M appropriation for the @CollinsvilleAVC that serves ten area school districts. We enjoyed discussing the project with the @lcouncilswil & the impact this will have on students, businesses & economic growth in the metro-east. @CUSD10

This summer, I was proud to deliver $21.2 million in federal funding to improve Goshen Road and Liberty Trail in Edwardsville. Today, I met with city officials to talk about this project which includes new roundabouts, EV charging infrastructure, shared-use paths and more!
I am truly honored to be recognized as Legislator of the Year by the Illinois School Counselors Association. The work they do in support of our students is impactful and essential.
I will continue to work to close loopholes that prevent justice for victims of sexual assault. Thank you to all my colleagues in the Illinois House for unanimous bipartisan support.
The House passed 31 bills today. Among them: @RepKatieStuart's HB 2093, which would make sexual assault by deception a Class 3 felony. The impetus for it was an Indiana case where a woman was sexually assaulted by someone who was pretending to be her boyfriend. #twill
Today I got to meet with SGA representatives from @IllinoisStateU and then was recognized as a stand out champion for education during @GovPritzker’s budget address. I’m happy to see support for education from preschool - post secondary as a high priority by this administration.
So happy to be a part of the opening visit of Makers on the Move! So excited for the new production facility at Boeing and for the 100’s of new jobs it will bring to the metro east!
In Illinois we know when it comes to pathways to success, a 4-year program is not always the right fit for every student.
That’s why we’re investing in our community colleges, apprenticeship programs, and exposing more young people to options not requiring a 4-year degree.
We are committed to fostering a culture of excellence and professionalism. Join our team and be a part of a community-focused organization that values integrity and service. #ISPJobs Apply by Sept. 15 for our April 2024 cadet class: https://t.co/cc7kPBJoaN
The Elections Omnibus Bill just passed which includes my bill to pre-register 16 years to vote!
By allowing 16 year olds to pre-register to vote, we will encourage more young people to take part in this process.
Here’s a snippet of my testimony from the subject matter hearing.
