It seems odd to me that I only have a vague sense if a track is great while performing. I need 24 hours and then listening back in a different environment to review. Is this something that comes with practice?

My music process:
* Improvise an idea.
* Spend x weeks refining and tweaking.
* Learn a huge amount in the process.
* Burn all the progress and release the original improv (It was better)
