@CherryTreee@MacSheoinin_@Endacisive@BrianODriscoll UBB we're the better team and deserved the win. I'm just saying that the TMO process in the CC is open to manipulation and yesterday Ben Whitehouse was clearly frustrated that he couldn't get what he wanted in the moment
@CherryTreee@MacSheoinin_@Endacisive@BrianODriscoll I don't mind what you believe but I do know how the TMO process works across the various competitions and I'm just telling you how it is. The TMO on Champions Cup matches can request any angle they wish to see from the broadcast director but may not always be shown the decisive 1
@CherryTreee@MacSheoinin_@Endacisive@BrianODriscoll Here's a much more telling article from a few years ago... where the director of yesterday's match let his guard down with a French reporter and admitted to hiding replay angles from the TMO
@MacSheoinin_@CherryTreee@Endacisive@BrianODriscoll I've seen the articles. They're just spin, in an attempt to protect their integrity. It doesn't change the fact that the TMO is not in control of what he can see in CC matches, inspite of what the quotes from FTV and others claim. Here's a link: https://t.co/MYguMgARbr
@92100LLL@Davidpr52119342@smurdawg@slatterywill FTV deny their own bias when facing heavy accusations... Quelle surprise!
How about this article from Dans @telerama with the FTV director, where he let's his guard down and admits to hiding angles?
@MacSheoinin_@bernardjackman@Murray_Kinsella@GavanCasey@The42_ie This article states clearly that the URC is the 1st and only club rugby competition which has adopted World Rugby's independent TMO setup as used at the RWC. All other club rugby comps (including CC) still rely entirely on the broadcaster's replays

@MacSheoinin_@Endacisive@CherryTreee@BrianODriscoll How the TMO facilities are set up is not defined within the laws of the game. The laws determine how things like offside, croc rolls, etc. are ref'd.
The TMO's ability to review incidents during World Rugby competitions is very different to what they have access to during CC
@rugby_ap For EPCR the TMO only sees the TV broadcast, once live and then has a second monitor with the same images running on a 4 second delay for another look. If he spots something that he wants to review, he has to ask the TV director to provide replay angles and is at their mercy
@Endacisive@CherryTreee@MacSheoinin_@BrianODriscoll Can you show me where EPCR say they use the same TMO review process that's used in World Rugby competitions? Feel free to use Google... the Internet never lies
@92100LLL@Davidpr52119342@smurdawg@slatterywill So how does the TMO review all those angles? You imagine he has instant control of everything like he's Tom Cruise in Minority Report?? Hawkeye is the review system used for TMO review at the Rugby World Cup and for URC matches
@92100LLL@Davidpr52119342@smurdawg@slatterywill EPCR don't have the budget to provide hawkeye review for TMO's on 140 Champions Cup and Challenge Cup matches per season, so they rely on the TV broadcast replays. Maybe I'm not so clever but I know I am right about this and that you are talking through your derrière!
@Endacisive@CherryTreee@MacSheoinin_@BrianODriscoll That's from World Rugby.... World Rugby don't control the setup in the Champions Cup, that's done by EPCR and in EPCR competitions the TMO can only see what is being provided by the broadcaster... in the case of today's game the local French broadcaster
@92100LLL@Davidpr52119342@smurdawg@slatterywill That quote (which you googled.. lol) is coming from World Rugby. World Rugby set how the TMO at the Rugby World Cup is provided with replays. This does not apply to the Champions Cup which is run by EPCR. You have no clue here.. but please keep going, your ignorance is enjoyable!
@92100LLL@Davidpr52119342@smurdawg@slatterywill You don't know what you're talking about... When was the last time you were in a broadcast truck for a Champions Cup game? Or any game for that matter?
@92100LLL@Davidpr52119342@smurdawg@slatterywill That journalist is wrong and so are you. The TMO does not have access to all angles during EPCR matches. He is seeing the same images as you are on TV
In the 6Nations, RWC and URC the TMO has independent access to all angles and their own replay operator but not for Champions Cup
@leluck64@thepaulwilliams A French TV director did direct multiple France games during the last Rugby World Cup. The difference is that at the RWC the TMO has his own replay operator and access to all camera angles... for the Champions Cup TMO can only see the angles being shown by the broadcasters
@thepaulwilliams You're wrong here Paul. In EPCR competitions the TMO does not have access to any angles or feeds other than what is being shown on TV.
The setup in RWC, 6N and URC all allow the TMO to act independently. Champions/Challenge Cup TMO's are at the mercy of the broadcaster... merci!
