Mark your calendars: CEOs of JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley to testify on Capitol Hill
Wed, May 26: Senate Banking Committee
Thurs, May 27: House Financial Services
Hey, I stopped watching Mission Impossible movies a looong time ago. Probably Mission Impossible 2? Anyway, would I further damage a 7-year old daredevil by showing him the later movies? And where should I start?
Hey look, it's old friend and former acting Comptroller of the Currency Brian Brooks testifying before the House Financial Services Committee about bank chartering issues. https://t.co/CJ9noldkJm
Watching a panel of bank/financial services attorneys about their predictions for the Rohit Chopra-led CFPB. Allow Clubba Lang to summarize the conversation.
The Senate Banking Committee is going to vote on the nominations of Rohit Chopra to lead the CFPB and Gary Gensler to chair the SEC in just a few minutes. https://t.co/NwMI0sCCWq
New on the Terminal, @RonWyden says he’ll introduce a bill to prevent debt collection on the next expected round of up to $1400 direct payments, couldn’t include in the $1.9T package likely to pass this week because of reconciliation rules. Statement from Wyden below:
I'm humbled and honored to be asked by @JoeBiden to serve as Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Now is the time to restore trust and put people first. https://t.co/vUhc9XLLMJ
Seriously, who's asking for this? They had a weird Wonka backstory in the dreadful Tim Burton remake (his dad was an evil dentist!)
Just let weirdos be weird, man.
New York Mets general manager Jared Porter sent explicit photos, including a naked picture of a penis, to a foreign female reporter in 2016 after she had ignored dozens of other messages from him for weeks.

Couple of thoughts on this:
1) @hitchop's past means look for a very aggressive CFPB.
2) This could be one of the effects of Dems winning both Georgia Senate seats. I'm not sure that Chopra would be able to get GOP votes given how aggressive he's likely to be.
SCOOP: Biden has chosen Gary Gensler as his nominee to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission and Rohit Chopra to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, according to people familiar with the matter. More on @theterminal. Web soon.
