DHS has confirmed that the suspected ringleader of the terror plot that would’ve murdered innocent civilians and elected officials is an illegal alien.

Not too long ago, Democrats shut down DHS to protect criminals like him. We must continue to enforce our immigration laws to protect our communities.

The terror plot targeting UFC Freedom 250 at the White House was allegedly led by an illegal immigrant, according to DHS.

Officials say Mexican national Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez was arrested by the FBI in Omaha on the day of the event before ICE lodged a detainer against him.

The administration says Alvarez was the ringleader of the failed attack and will face justice before being deported from the U.S.

Alvarez came to the United States as a child and was granted deportation relief through DACA by the Obama administration in 2014 after he failed to leave the country when his B2 visa expired in 2001.

On June 10, FBI and our law enforcement partners became aware of a potential threat to the UFC America 250 event in Washington, D.C. involving individuals outside of the National Capital Region – and thanks to the rapid action of this FBI, our partners, and the Department of Justice in a multi-state operation, multiple individuals are now in custody and allegedly planned attacks were stopped cold.

While the result represented the best of investigative work, it was also nothing out of the ordinary for this law enforcement team – we are built to detect, respond to, and bring to justice those who threaten the lives of American citizens - particularly during large gatherings like the historic UFC 250 fight. That’s exactly what we did here. I want to thank our great agents and partners, this work remains ongoing and we will continue to update the public as permitted.

The Working Families Tax Cuts put Michigan families first.

This historic legislation prevented 66,780 families in Michigan's 5th District from seeing their household’s Child Tax Credit cut in half and increased the Child Tax Credit to $2,500 per child to provide much-needed tax relief to working families.

The No Aid for Ghost Students Act maintains the integrity of our federal student aid system by strengthening oversight and cracking down on fraud.
