HIV/AIDS Week of Action is a time to stand with advocates, health care providers, and community leaders working to end the epidemic.
We must protect Medicaid, preserve HIV/AIDS research, and defend the public health services that help save lives.
I was proud to deliver $400,000 to Jessie Trice Community Health System, a trusted provider that has served Miami-Dade families for generations.
Protecting Social Security and Medicare means protecting access to quality, affordable health care. I will continue fighting for the community health centers that South Florida families deserve.
My dear friend Lovette McGill, a fierce union advocate and unwavering voice for working families.
Thank you for your friendship, your leadership, your steadfast commitment to protecting and uplifting workers, and for always supporting me.
Happy Pride Month!
This month, we honor the LGBTQ+ community and continue working toward a future where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and equality.
Role Model Broadway C. Harewood, my dear friend and partner in the fight to interrupt the school-to-prison pipeline.
Thank you so much for always showing up for me in grand style.
Join us for the Prestigious Scholarship Academic Signing Ceremony as we celebrate the 2026 Wilson Scholars and their remarkable academic achievements.
These outstanding students have earned scholarships through hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence. We look forward to honoring their success and the bright futures that lie ahead.
Today, I announced that I will not seek re-election to Congress, but I am not retiring. My life’s work is entering a new chapter. I will take the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project across America, bringing mentorship, hope, and opportunity to young people in communities throughout our nation.
As I prepare for this next chapter, I find myself reflecting on where this journey began. It began at Skyway Elementary School, where I was a principal fighting for children, families, and this community. It was there that we organized to shut down the Agripost plant and stood up for the health and future of our children.
The journey took me from the Miami-Dade School Board, to the Florida Legislature, and then to the United States Congress, fighting for voting rights, education, healthcare, environmental justice, and mentoring thousands of young people through the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project.
And now, this chapter ends full circle.
Today, I stood beside Dr. Frederica S. Wilson Elementary School on Frederica Wilson Boulevard, next to the very school where my career began. Nobody planned it this way, but somehow the beginning, the journey, and this ending all met in the same place.
I want children to say with pride, “I attend Dr. Frederica S. Wilson Elementary School on Frederica Wilson Boulevard.” That is more than a name on a building. It is a declaration that success is not distant. It lives right here in their own community, and it lives in them.
Meaningful change begins with connection. Proud to stand alongside leaders and public servants committed to strengthening our communities and making a difference.
As families and communities across South Florida celebrate Eid al-Adha, I extend my warmest wishes to all who are observing.
May this celebration bring peace, joy, and abundant blessings to every home.
On Memorial Day, we honor those who gave their lives in service to our nation.
We remember their sacrifice, their courage, and the freedoms they helped preserve for all of us.
We hold their families in our hearts and recommit ourselves to honoring their legacy with gratitude and respect.
At the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Principals and Partners Luncheon, it was my honor to enter MDCPS 2026 District Principal of the Year, Role Model Lamar Johnson, into the United States Congressional Record.
Principal Johnson attended my school, Skyway Elementary, when he was a child and I was his principal. Today, he serves as principal of Liberty City Elementary, the school I attended as a child.
Pictured with us is the principal of Dr. Frederica Wilson/Skyway Elementary, Tiffany James, a former Regional Principal of the Year.
Republicans blocked the House from voting to stop Trump’s reckless war in Iran because they knew they did not have the votes to win.
Instead of helping families struggling with high costs here at home, Republicans are choosing to stand with Trump and spend billions on war overseas.
House Democrats will not be silent. We will keep fighting for peace, accountability, and the American people.
