@Tanyalilian@CitImmCanFR i got an answer after 13 days but i’m Canadian, I don’t know how the rules apply for temporary residents:( you should check the IRCC website, they explain the exemptions pretty good! good luck for the rest x
After two long weeks we finally got our approval! My boyfriend will be able to visit me here in Canada for Christmas. Thank you for everyone for their support and for the @CitImmCanFR to let us have this chance. #LoveIsNotTourism 🇨🇦🇮🇸
as a Canadian in the LGBTQ community , I support every American LGBTQ person stuck in this fucked up system of a government. i truly hope you will win your battle, we are fighting this together💙 #USElection2020#BidenHarrisToEndThisNightmare#Biden2020
flights are officially booked! my boyfriend should be here on sunday, after a long time separated ❤️ thank you @FacesofAdvocacy for their dedication in helping couples like us to reunite in our country🇨🇦 #LoveIsNotToursim
EoD internal group approvals.
99 total:
-17 USA
-79 eta
-3 visa
Out of those who applied 10/8-10/16:
-83 % of eTAs approved
-45% of visitor visas approved
-less than 15% of US approved
Internal polling is roughly 740 applicants total. Official IRCC numbers will be higher.
We are concerned about the disproportionate approval rate for US citizens compared to eTA/visa. We estimate 10% of US have been approved (52% eTA, 39% visa, see ⤵️) We hope to see today flooded in US approvals - esp. those who submitted on first 2 days (been waiting 10 biz days).
@marcomendicino@StatCan_eng please speak up about the process of written authorization to accept extended family. we’re scared and anxious. these times aren’t fun for anyone, but especially for us. i deserve to know in the delay you mentioned (14 days) if i’ll be able to spend christmas with my boyfriend.
@FacesofAdvocacy@CitImmCanada@marcomendicino this bureaucracy isn’t right. you said it should take 2 weeks for everyone to get an answer. it’s been almost two weeks and 1/8 people have had an answer. we won’t shut up about it until you tell us what’s going on, human to human, not minister to citizen.
We are tracking all known *internal group* submissions & approvals. To display the transparency that we desire from @CitImmCanada, here is a graph to show date of submission + rates of approval. The authorized numbers are from last night; we will continue to update today.
@FacesofAdvocacy the process of selection is completely uncoherent. some of us have been waiting since oct. 8-9 and somehow, later applications were priorized. how can you priorize people over people? we’re all in the same boat here, and we’re all suffering.
This morning we heard of the first few confirmed US extended family members authorizations. These authorizations need to pour in so the 14 day promise can be upheld and families can be reunited after 7 months.

@marcomendicino We've been asked to be patient with the 14-day turn-around - but the rate of known approvals is utterly troubling. Will there be a sudden outpour of approvals? We hope so, but the more time passes, so do hope and faith. Not knowing if our app is in is terrifying.
Another weekend without our families, 2 weeks since the extended family exemption announcement, one week since roll-out, 13 confirmed approvals. Is this how you treat suffering families?
