Illan Meslier will wear the No.30 shirt at Arsenal.
He said: “I’m extremely happy. It’s a great day for me because I have just joined the champions. For me, Arsenal is the biggest club in England. I cannot wait to win trophies with this team, because this is a club that needs to lift trophies again and again.”
@McConaughey@FIFAWorldCup Belgium beating the US was not surprising, I expected them to win. I think it's the manner in which the US lost that was surprising, considering their good form in this WC. It seems that the Balogun red card drama might have negatively affected them.
@MutwiriMutuota@EricNjiiru France came from 2-0 down against a stronger Argentina team in the 2022 WC final and only lost on penalties. The team is more than capable.
🚨🗣️ William Saliba reveals Mikel Arteta’s challenge before the World Cup, ahead of France’s blockbuster showdown with Morocco.
🗣️ Presenter: Did Mikel Arteta set any challenge for the Arsenal players before the World Cup began?
🗣️ William Saliba: Yes, Mikel Arteta told us that one of the Arsenal players had to come back with the trophy.
🗣️ Arteta said that whoever comes back with the World Cup gets free dinners and bragging rights all season.
🗣️ Hopefully, I’m the one who fulfills the manager’s wish (laughs)😊😊

@BFordLancer Spain, England & France have been solid in this WC. They deserve to be where they are. Argentina has struggled but they are a resilient team with a winning mentality. That is what has saved them. I hope to see 1 or 2 upsets but I'm okay if these 4 reach the semis.
@indi_leg772@BFordLancer These 4 teams are also the highest ranked in the World and the favourites to progress. Belgium can potentially cause an upset especially if they play with the same determination they had against the US
@draper_rob@ChachaMarquis Saka has been struggling with a long term injury for quite sometime now which has affected his performance. Despite this, his goal contribution in this WC has been decent, better than most
You guys have no idea how insane it sounds to us Norwegians when you say you’re rooting for us and hoping we’ll win the World Cup! There are fewer people in the whole of Norway than there are in London alone, and every single one of us couldn’t be prouder. Not just because of Haaland, but because of the entire team. They’re a team in every sense of the word! 💪🏻🇳🇴
Let us share something that embodies the spirit of a #FIFAWorldCup.
This is our good friend Ben (tallest). He's a listener of our show and lives in Ohio.
He found tickets to the 🇨🇩🇺🇿 match and convinced his wife to make suits for the fam similar to the ones that DR Congo arrived in because he loved it and wanted to do something fun.
They headed down to Atlanta (461 mi) and, at the game, he had tons of fans from all around the world coming up to him asking for photos!
Think about that. A random person connected to another country through football. That's what this sport can do. 🐆

@DavidDavid14353@eugene_ken4@Novig They played their B team. Most of their key players were rested and it seems to have bore fruits. Look where they are now. It would have been a much more competitive game
England's World Cup run means Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice will miss Arsenal's first pre-season game ❌
The pair are due a mandatory three-week break when they finally leave the tournament, having already racked up a staggering 𝟭𝟯𝟳 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 of football this season 😅🪫
🚨No matter how much further they go at the World Cup, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and William Saliba are not expected to be available for Arsenal until the first international break.
The club are aware they desperately need a rest and it’s likely they will not play any part until the start of October.
The Gunners will face Manchester City in the Community Shield, followed up by Coventry, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Sunderland and Brighton in the league without the three players mentioned.
This is also part of the reason why Mikel Arteta wants to sign a centre back, central midfielder and a winger this summer.
@AlThomp@CHUCKERXXX@ProFootballTalk A huge following doesn't necessarily translate to greater success. The majority of countries with huge following have not achieved much success in football. Other factors play a greater role
