God this one gets under my skin. Like do you become an artist by never consuming other art? Watch zero films before making a movie? Yes, people who make games will use other games as an inspiration, the medium is half a century old now. The depth of references is enormous.

It's always depressing when I see one of those "here are the inspirations for our game" tweets and its just 3 other games from 10-20 years ago. No books, music, films, nothing. Indie games now suffer the same issue as AI where the inputs are from the same source as the outputs

@JaydenLibran Also the monsters have just the worst character designs. Like we’ve had this tech for two years and you can already tell what an “AI” look is. The entire point of animation is to have character designs that stand out, that look distinct, that SELL THINGS.
