COVID-19 Update:
Luckily our hardware was finished a few weeks ago (before the lockdown starts). We are working from home and meeting regularly via Zoom. We have focused on finishing the documentation and improving the software (and also testing).

During the project development, we did a lot of changes and had different issues. For instance, we first try to use the hotspot to connect the devices, then we changed to Bluetooth and finally, we are using hotspot, the reason is...
that was a huge headache but with a lot of work, we are able to control all the motors without any Arduino. Last but not least, when we where testing different improvement on our RPI the wifi stopped working, fortunately, we had 2 more RPI.
It doesn't matter where you are in case of building collapse, Rescu-e will find you. We have been doing tests to smooth the movement and improve connection stability. Even though we start the project with Bluetooth, using the hotspot is the correct option.
Intensive work yesterday solving last-minute issues with the stream. Finally, a not updated file on the RPI was responsible for the failure. We are working intensively in the project, we will keep you updated. #robot#UofG#RPiRobot#Glasgow#fun
The 4-wheel drive together with a great weight distribution (placing the batteries in a strategic point to lower the centre of gravity) make Rescu-e capable of overcoming any terrain.

We want to reveal the final hardware design for Rescu-e. It has been a great effort to get to this point and we are very proud of the achievements. There is still work to do regarding the Software.

The agility of Rescu-e is one of the most important features. The speed can be gradually adapted and due to the 4 wheel drive the movement is very precise.

Rescu-e has independent camera movement, thanks to that we can find new paths or focus on specific areas with no need to move. This feature is essential in narrow spaces.

Today we want to introduce you to the heart (or rather the brain) of Rescu-e. This Raspberry Pi 3 allows us to control the robot and carry out all the necessary communications.
