@UsyksBurner He’s a clown but you are dishonest with the “what has he done at 38” comparison. Obviously that’s not the right criteria to use to compare boxers’ greatness. Tyson was shot to shit by 38 but he started out much earlier as a pro than Usyk.
@snboxing@BCitarella42847@mquinn187_2 Imo the one who’s better was Rigo but Rigo being a small 122er jumping up to 130 takes a lot from that win. Can’t really argue anyone else he beat being better than Estrada not even GRJ.
@ringmagazine Only fight in his career where he was a slight underdog was the Ford fight. He was a heavy favorite against both Doheny and Rios and he’s favoured against Goodman. You can’t just claim the scrappy underdog role and at the same time be a big favorite to win almost all your fights.
@MatchroomBoxing@galal_yafai Wait a minute… did I get played too? Is this a positive test or just Eddie Hearn trying to muddy the waters like he did after Beterbiev vs Bivol 1?
@MatchroomBoxing@galal_yafai It’s especially bad because the kind of beating he dished out being on peds, possibly altering Yafai’s career.
But 😂 @ the ppl claiming they knew beforehand. Rather it was wishful thinking/coping that was accidentally true for once.
@NadimElHaddad1 Yes and idk if he really believes what he has gone through so far really prepared him for a Zurdo or Jack but he has enough sense of reality that he doesn’t mention Opetaia.
@snboxing fear of their sports going extinct. Are sports in general less popular than before? Or is this a prevalent fear ongoing for decades but never materializing? What I know is that “boxing is dead/dying” was a thing even 100 years before. Looks alive for such an old corpse lol
@snboxing Eliminating the belt organizations, leaving only one or two of them, forcing out even more fights between competing promoters.
Nowadays I see the “promote better” discussion as over hysterized. Not saying your post does this but a lot of people in/around most of sports feel this
@millthemachine@ringmagazine Right and the PEDs too, Garcia could have brought a gun and shot Haney in the ring and they would have clapped for that too. 0 morals. But their example is nothing to follow. All of these cases should be severly criticized by fans, this is anything but sportsnanlike behavior
@BoxingShrew Yeah it’s like the nightmare matchup for Lopez. I seriously don’t get ppl who are picking Lopez with confidence. There’s a pattern in Lopez’s fights, he looks good against guys moving forward or being ststionary and he struggles against guys that box him. It’s not hard to see
@BoxingShrew Lol, in the heat of the monent it’s easy to get swept up by the atmosphere of the fight and that both guys gave their all, I get it but Eubank won clearly, ain’t no draw or Benn win.
@NicoleArbour Yall need to stop being obsessed by fictional character's skin color if it has no relevancy at all. It looks childish as fuck. The character has no "white" or any other identity connected to skin color or an ethnicity, it literally doesn't change a thing. Get over it.
@finalbosscaleb @ringmagazine Don’t get it mixed up. Ryan Garcia is a PED cheat who got his win taken away rightfully while Tank should have either KDd or DQd.
You can’t cherry pick PED cases depending on whether you like the fighter in question (or hate the one who “lost”) or not.
@SGB798@imbored4207 @tooARoy @ringmagazine Now if they would get bored of the whole thing, the state operative changes or anything happens then all things would probably collapse…
As long as they are invested though I don’t think they would think about this as a business first, with the main goal of being profitable
@SGB798@imbored4207 @tooARoy @ringmagazine They badically have infinite resources to pull from to make these events, the whole thing doesn’t have to be a self-sustainable and profitable as long as they think it helps them in their wider goals. The dream amounts they pay these fighters and promoters is chump change to them
