"It follows the trajectory of the past year of increased criminalisation of protest movements. We are genuinely sleep walking towards an authoritarian state and it’s scaring me that a large portion of the population have not woken up to this”

This morning we blocked off the entrance to @UniversitiesUK’s offices to kick off the start of strike action across 58 universities this week🔥

"More than half the Metropolitan police officers found guilty of sexual misconduct remained in their jobs." With women already lacking trust and confidence in reporting to the police, what message does this send to survivors? https://t.co/rUxBOgJFv2
⚖️ COURT UPDATE:
The two #KillTheBill protestors in court have had their cases adjourned until the 13th October as the judge asked the prosecution to reconsider the charges
It’s an unusual move from the judge but a good sign! We wait to see if the prosecution wish to proceed…
Please continue to donate to our legal support fund ahead of our first court appearance tomorrow! We’re edging ever closer to our target 🙌
Those wishing to support are encouraged to gather at 10:30am tomorrow outside Newcastle Magistrates Court

NEWCASTLE KILL THE BILL PROTESTORS IN COURT NEXT WEEK
They are due in court on Wednesday, charged with firing a firework in a public place, after holding smoke flares following a banner drop.
There's no doubt that this a complete overreaction and a politically motivated charge.
If anyone wishes to support the two in court next week people will be gathering at Newcastle Magistrates Court on Wednesday 15th September at 10:30am.
Please note this is a plea hearing and their trial will be in the following months.
