Republicans just admitted: "the real reason that we're here is because of the expiration of the Trump Tax Cuts."
Translation? "We're here to cut Medicaid in order to give huge tax giveaways to our billionaire donors."
Fresh CPI data are very good news for the Fed.
Headline, YoY: 7.7%, versus 7.9% expected, 8.2% prior
Core, YoY: 6.3%, versus 6.5% expected, 6.6% prior
Monthly core decelerated sharply, and more than expected.

@4TaxFairness Outrageous. But appreciation to Sen. Rick Scott for helping make it clear what the GOP really stands for (and who the GOP doesn't stand up for).
@4TaxFairness Because roads, bridges, airports, clean water, public schools, safe foods, national defense, patents and courts, all of which @elonmusk & @JeffBezos rely on more than anyone else, require lots of tax dollars. #TaxBillionares
By the time you finish reading this, Elon Musk will have "earned" what the median household in America makes in a year.
He won't pay a penny in taxes on that wealth gain if he doesn't want to, but the median household will pay their fair share on their wages. #TaxBillionaires
If you paid any taxes this Tax Day, you paid more than Elon Musk did in 2018 and Jeff Bezos did in 2007 and 2011. Seriously. #TaxBillionaires

Thank you, @POTUS, for taxing billionaire wealth gains in your new budget! 👏 Firefighters, nurses, and teachers shouldn't pay a higher tax rate than the billionaires who got richer during the pandemic. #BillionairesTax

Families With Low Incomes Spend Expanded Child Tax Credit on Most Basic Needs, Education https://t.co/ZmKpkmoESc Congress needs to extend the child tax credit now!
@PatrioticMills "Tax Us" is a far more powerful message than "Tax them." Bravo to Patriotic Millionaires for organizing this powerful statement by 100 very wealthy folks. These millionaires & billionaires understand that the common good is more important than their narrow financial self-interest

If billionaires can afford to go to space, they can afford to pay their fair share in taxes.
Let's pass @POTUS' tax plan to #RewardWorkNotWealth and raise $4 trillion we can invest in jobs, infrastructure, clean energy & more here on Earth.
☎️ Call your senators: 1-888-894-6720
Sen. Manchin, you couldn’t get 10 GOP votes to even debate voting rights. So now let’s break the filibuster, go to majority vote on For The People Act, VRA, George Floyd Act, infrastructure, raising the minimum wage & making permanent #ChildTaxCredit, b/c it’s all connected.
@abigaildisney @SenatorSinema Thank you @abigaildisney for once again recognizing your outsized influence as a wealthy person, and speaking up for justice, for fairness, and for democracy. The country desperately needs S.1 — @SenatorSinema I hope you’re listening; we need you to support voting rights.
Wealthy people who fly on private jets and have a glass of wine are not farmers. At a minimum, they should pay tax on a lifetime of untaxed income when they die, as Biden proposes.
The Administration's proposal addresses this farm concern. It is important that policymakers not hide behind such addressed concerns to let billionaires go through life & death without paying taxes on much of their income.
