[Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon @RepMGS]

When the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 came before the Rules Committee, I offered Rep. Meeks’s amendment to block President Trump from waiving Russian sanctions. My Republican colleagues voted against it.

On Friday, President Trump did exactly that: issuing an EO that exempts Russia from the new sanctions passed by Congress last month, a dangerous decision that puts our allies at risk.

[Rep. Joe Neguse @RepJoeNeguse]

3 years ago today.

I’ve participated in quite a few exchanges on the Rules Committee. This remains, by far, the most baffling one.

[Rep. Jim McGovern @RepMcGovern]

We’ve only had 72 days in session this year.

Under Republican leadership, this is the laziest & least effective Congress in American history.

[Rep. Jim McGovern @RepMcGovern]

Industry leaders are sounding the alarm on AI, begging for Congress to put safeguards on them.

The American People are struggling with an affordability crisis caused by Trump’s stupid tariffs & his reckless war of choice with Iran.

Diesel prices are at an all-time high. Gas is through the roof. We’re burning billions of dollars on a reckless war that’s claiming American lives.

And @SpeakerJohnson is sending us home. Again. Because he cares more about his members campaigning to get reelected than solving the major issues facing our country.

It’s pathetic.

[Rep. Jim McGovern @RepMcGovern]

AI experts say there’s a greater than 10% chance their technology could wipe out humanity within a decade. Even a fraction of that possibility is unacceptable.

So what are Republicans doing about it? Absolutely NOTHING.

Totally unfit to lead.

[Rep. Jim McGovern @RepMcGovern]

Congress should be working to put safeguards on AI & address the affordability crisis. Instead, @SpeakerJohnson is sending his conference home to campaign. It’s disgusting.

[Rep. Jim McGovern @RepMcGovern]

Trump promised (and failed to deliver):

❌Lower gas prices
❌Cheaper groceries
❌$5K DOGE “dividend” checks
❌$3K tariff checks

OF COURSE no one’s getting his $5K bribe.

It’s total BS, corrupt as hell & an insult to folks who need REAL HELP to survive in his failed economy.

[Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández @RepTeresaLF]

Republican’s priorities are all wrong.

[Rep. Jim McGovern @RepMcGovern]

Since Republicans took control of Washington, gas is up $1.21, inflation is up nearly half a percent, and the cost of diesel is at an all-time high.

Are you better off today than you were two years ago?

[Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon @RepMGS]

With just 4 days to legislate before Speaker Johnson sends Congress home for another 7 weeks, our Republican colleagues have decided to prioritize legislation that weakens environmental protections for our kids and communities.

[Rep. Joe Neguse @RepJoeNeguse]

House Republicans have cancelled votes for the next two months.

The next scheduled vote after this Thursday?

November 9th. Seriously.

[House Rules Democrats @RulesDemocrats]

With one week left before the House leaves another month, the GOP is focused on virtue-signaling fraud bills, resolutions to help Big Polluters, and Russia & Iran sanctions.

Nothing to lower costs or make life easier for Americans.

[Rep. Jim McGovern @RepMcGovern]

Folks are struggling to pay for basic necessities. But after a month-long break, @HouseGOP’s first order of business is to jam through a meaningless resolution screaming about “socialism”—which they can’t even define.

November can’t come soon enough.

[Rep. Joe Neguse @RepJoeNeguse]

After 5 weeks out of session — and with countless challenges facing our country — House Republicans' very first order of business?

A bill delaying protections for the North Atlantic right whale.

Seriously.

[Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon @RepMGS]

Instead of focusing on making life better for the American people, my Republican colleagues would rather divide and instill fear into them.

[Rep. Jim McGovern @RepMcGovern]

Every time they start losing the debate, Republicans cry “socialism” to distract from how they’ve failed to address the affordability crisis.

Why are groceries so expensive? Socialism!

Why are healthcare costs so high? Socialism!

Why did Trump start another war? Socialism!

[House Rules Democrats @RulesDemocrats]

Families are getting crushed by higher costs—and Republicans’ big comeback agenda is a meaningless anti-socialism resolution, a college culture-war bill, a mining industry giveaway, and a bill endangering whales.

[Rep. Jim McGovern @RepMcGovern]

If Republicans actually went out and talked to people, they’d know the only ones they’re helping are the billionaires who bought another private jet thanks to Trump’s tax breaks.

[Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon @RepMGS]

Instead of focusing on his countless vanity projects, President Trump needs to focus on lowering costs for Americans.
