What happened since 2020? Scheduling changes meaning more time to concentrate of single matches, YouTube allowing wrestlers more avenues to study more great matches and styles, promotions valuing great matches instead of really not caring. The schedule is bigger than you'd think. When All Japan Budokan shows dominated the best match, the guys there woud tell me it was the last night on the tour and they'd have 3 weeks off, so there was no holding back, while in WWE and WCW you always had to be ready to work the next day. Today, especially in AEW, one match every other week is very different from four a week. An owner who values it, signing talent and matchmaking to have the best matches. Wrestlers who can study from the past. Evolution of athletics, uniqueness, more thought into bouts. If matches weren't far better in the last ten years there would be something wrong and a nostalgia bias.
