@sotonDSN@DrSdeG Bit different but saw a patient with otitis externa who’d been ‘treating’ it with undiluted TCP. I could barely get near his ear for the smell being so strong. I’ve never had TCP in my medical cabinet at home.
@2manypeople4me@DrVoles@DrNeenaJha@YvetteCooperMP Funding in pharmacy is so dire that these services seem v attractive to fill the shortfalls created by dispensing at a huge financial loss. It’ll all be ok once all the high street pharmacies have closed.
@2manypeople4me@DrVoles@DrNeenaJha@YvetteCooperMP BP monitoring has been ‘sold’ 2 pharmacy as providing a service, not managing an issue. So some will simply do the measuring, fill in the form and send to appropriate provider. Without much thought. I was practicing for 47 years & had had a lot more training, lot more experience
@AlanMain514330@RogueUnfiltered Could you, at the very least, use correct punctuation and grammar. Your written English is almost incomprehensible. Your point would have more credence if it was well written and coherent. It sounds like an illiterate rant
@MartynEckersley@DrVoles@YvetteCooperMP As a retired pharmacist I’m shocked. This is so basic. Long before Pharmacy First, patients like this have presented in pharmacies & I would’ve probably referred to GP minimum, more likely ED. PF seems to have addled pharmacists’ brains, seem unable to even use common sense
@2manypeople4me@DrVoles@DrNeenaJha@YvetteCooperMP The problem is they didn’t know what they didn’t know That’s what happens if you’re working off an algorithm with zero training. To get a GP appointment with dizziness on AccuRx or Klinik as a symptom would’ve prob taken more than this unfortunate 24hr delay.
@AndyBuc77014113@thetimes My niece had a similar experience: v severe acne which cleared up brilliantly but severe suicidal ideation and rapid onset of anorexia. Took a long time to resolve, lots of therapy.
@1979motorhead@JaniceG83751528@paulxx59 No it doesn’t. It helps reduce the symptoms and reduces the length of time you have symptoms. Like most vaccines it’s not 100% but can make any outbreak much less severe and less likely to cause long term effects such as neuralgia or even blindness
@Ahwellnevermind Same at hospital where I volunteer. Visitors/patients rummaging through the masks to get, what? a cleaner one? I make them take all the ones they’ve handled as they’re no use to anyone else.
@RoyLilley@DrSteveTaylor We have but one UTC for the whole of Bristol. Yes, thats for 500,000 residents. And 2 MIU well outside the city environs, one North and one West. We had a central MIU which shut down during lockdown never to reopen. So, yes, we need more that are accessible & medically staffed
