@LouisAshabraner Keep in mind that original ac adapters may also need to have parts replaced. They have a big chunky cap that likes to leak and damage traces on the inner PCB.

I just got a #SegaGenesis AC adapter in from a customer who wanted a restoration service. This is a strange 🍪. Besides having cap fish smell and being covered in gunk there are multiple spots dangerously close to shorting. The only supports the board has are the solder joints ���

@LouisAshabraner Sega CD model 1s can be tricky. More often than not they'll have bad capacitors on the power board. Check for leaky, crusty looking caps on that board. There's also a transistor that likes to go boom on them if I remember correctly.

@DeyeMofo I know there's going to at least be a couple of people very upset with me, and I can't blame them. I basically disappeared for a month. My mind's still a haze but I'll work through it.

I had just been getting accustomed to my new job just before this came down on me. I have been taking as much time off work as I could manage to take care of her. She's currently past the worst of it, soon to make a full recovery.

My regular day to day will return soon.
