Very, very sad day for STFC fans. Danny Williams took us to Wembley & arguably the clubs greatest ever day & won promotion back to division 2. Those days were so exciting with The County Ground packed every week & how many 'big' clubs did The Town knock out of the FA & FL Cups?
For many of us, our love for #STFC started long after the 1968/69 season but Danny Williamsโ achievements as manager of Town are the reason that many of us, including myself, are Swindon Town supporters today.
Thanks, Danny. Rest well.
Everyone at Swindon Town FC is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former manager, Danny Williams.
Danny was manager on the greatest day in our club's history - victory over @Arsenal in the League Cup in 1969; the 50th anniversary of which is on 15th March.
