Finally played Skynet for the first time, and I'm kinda impressed. A highly ambicious FPS for it's time with HUGE open-world areas, that rewards exploration. The pacing is non-existent, but otherwise it's really cool and can be pretty hardcore at times. Also, FMV cutscenes! π«Ά
Story time. I once got a letter from a Cosmo fan. He wanted to use the game to propose to his girlfriend. He sent me the proposal text and I made a screen with his text and Todd programmed it in and we sent the guy a custom game .exe file.
The guy and his girlfriend played the game together and when they beat it, the screen came up. Far as I recall, it worked ;) I like to think they are still together somewhere out there.

Originally an Apogee game, but we sold the publishing rights to Interplay halfway into the game's development. Parallax Software, the developers, were hugely talented and created a hit game that immediately made them one of the top game studios during the 90's.
@gabriel_linf The pause music in the original version is also on an entirely different level too regarding atmosphere. It was a crime to have it removed from the BFG ed! Made you feel even more tense hearing that and seeing mars spinning.
I uploaded the loop to YT.
