I know that someone who was in leadership said that in the past. The people we've been led by have spoken and taught based on their opinions and conjecture. Plainly, though, there is nothing in canonical scriptures that says that, so i dont have to believe that interpretation of what happened in the preexistence or, frankly, defend it as an idea. Why did someone in leadership teach something outside of the canon? It happens. People get their own ideas in religion and express them. It's pretty typical for humans to do that. It doesnt damn us forever, thankfully, if someone teaches something that is conjecture and gets it wrong. We can get a good idea what matters to know in spite of it, and Jesus can redeem us and teach us what's true and what we need.

A little girl's grandfather has just passed away from cancer and she has been crying. Her father picks her up to comfort her and listen to her.

"Dad, you gave Grandpa a blessing. Why didn't God make him better?"

There is a pause

Basically, what is needed here, not just for the child but for her father, is the answer as to why people die even though Christ is loving and has the power to heal.

The answer is something everyone answers a bit different through Christianity. The job is not to promise people that they wont die. It is to say why we do, and to give comfort.

For us, as Latter Day Saints, there are things we say, like that God called our loved ones to do work on the other side of the veil to watch over us. We believe that those of us who kept their covenants do work for God on the other side bringing the gospel to others who have died without it and doing other things that glorify God.

And we believe that eventually, everyone will be resurrected to a physical body, and then death and sickness will be gone forever, and families will be together forever. No more loss of each other.

Yeah, the men with the power of the priesthood set apart olive oil and then use it for blessings of the sick and afflicted. No, not everyone who is blessed is healed in this life. Christ will heal everyone, but that healing and making whole wont always happen in this life. Sometimes it does, and there are miracles that are brought through acts in Christ's name, by faith and the power of Christ. Hope that answers your question.

Pretty much everybody asks some form of it in their childhood or when we experience loss.

Sifting has occurred and schisms will continue to happen within every faith. People within every tradition develop misconceptions about its doctrine to suit their fancies. What do we do about the errors that creep in? We wait on the Lord. He's responsible to correct our course as needed, and if we have faith in Him, He'll be our King. Then we dont need to be afraid. If you read the Book of Mormon and the Bible, countless misconceptions and evils crept into the churches over time. God rebuked it before and He will again. If you go back even in the history of the restoration, our own prophets have had to be corrected and admonished for incorrect directionsand actions. God will correct His people.

You know, my husband has had a bishop who embezzled funds, used prostitutes. Thankfully not currently bishop. He had another church leader who got into a physical altercation with him when he asked for a rated r movie that was being shown to youth to be turned off. This was in the church overseas. husband has a basically unshakeable testimony. His is in the plan of salvation.

It might be dumb of me, but i dont believe the amount of antigens a person is exposed to during normal life is a good reason why the small amount of antigens in vaccines make vaccines safe.

I think that we'll learn there are consequences for some people that just arent worth it when it comes to autoimmune disorders from vaccine and virus exposure.

You're right. I should clarify what I mean.

Carl will be killed if he doesnt periodically satisfy the escalatingly bizzarre foot and birth kinks of the ai, which comes across as a sexually violent coercive relationship played for entertainment and the character feels dirty and violated by being forced into this position for his survival. Even if it doesn't arouse him or the reader. Raul the sapient crab in the ocean, which was played for entertainment. Katia and Bautista, but nothing was really described except emotions and character thoughts. The sapient cabaret hamsters, which is meant to be comedic and not erotic. The endless Psamathe innuendo. Animals, mongo and kiwi.

None of it is meant to be erotic, but that doesn't really remove the sexual aspect. Instead of being erotic, it's bizarre and shocking.

Very rarely did i ever answer those questions without offering what i meant by my answer or asking questions about it which led to discussion and reassurance or sometimes the acknowledgement that I simply wasn't ready. We do give the temple recommends to ourselves, in the end, by what we say and are accountable to.

@Rach_the_Rivetr Id say it's too bad, since i read and like them, but i got the impression that im not supposed to read them anymore, and I think it is admirable to avoid things that you think are wrong to consume, so im going to give you a 👍🏼 instead. Virtue is priceless.

Lots of really bawdy humor and sexual innuendo, some bizarre sex scenes. Very crude, yet extremely well-crafted. If you dont read it, you're definitely not missing anything that you need. Only something you might want. Avoiding it could be good for you. I dont know what your typical standard is, though. It's a great story about saving people from hopeless situations almost as horrible as can be conceived.
