Rep. Cory Mills’ campaign paperwork says he signed his candidate oath in Florida on June 4, with a Florida notary.

There’s one small problem with that, though…

His own House voting record says otherwise — he was on the floor voting and sitting through Armed Services Committee markup in D.C. that same day.

Both can’t be true.

A GOP primary opponent is now suing to get Mills tossed off the ballot entirely, arguing the notarization is void — Florida notaries can only notarize within Florida — and that Mills may not have personally signed the oath at all.

Neither Mills nor the notary (a fellow congressman’s chief of staff) has responded to a single reporter’s request for comment. Mills’ own listed campaign phone and email don’t even work. A sitting congressman, unreachable about whether he signed his own name.
