@mc19579758 @mirandabencomo @RepDonBacon Well, NATO rules state that if a nation is at war, it cannot join the alliance. It is per NATO rules. And the U.S. can leave nato and you guys can invite Ukraine to it and activate article 5 and go fight the Russians. We don’t really care.

First, point 4 mentions security council, in which the U.S. is part of, and it is only valid if Ukraine is attacked with a nuclear weapon. Nothing in there obligates the U.S. to aid Ukraine in a normal invasion as it is happening now.
