@northwoods1980 fair point,& certainly exam & clinical progress after 2-3 weeks biggest factor in decision-making. main reason to consider repeat MRI is to ensure lateral structures not tearing/retracting more, as this your last chance to repair, vs more complex reconstruction later.
@northwoods1980 and yes, this has changed dramatically in the past 10 years. in the past, all new docs had an understanding and expected to treat “general” ortho cases…wrist, ankle, hip fx, etc. now docs immediately focus on their subspecialty
@northwoods1980 yes & yes, while technically there is a shared rotating call schedule with every doc, practically the on-call surgeon serves as triage, temporizing treatment and referring to the appropriate subspecialist. yes, at level 1 that subspecialist is often an ortho traumatologist.
@dp_oneill bingo
probably #1 challenge in my practice is keeping staff that have to work in these roles. despite paying hardsome wages, great people inevitably get burnt out in the toxic, infuriating position of being stuck between insurers & reasonable patients frustrated with the system
@Geo_papic@BillSimmons i can only imagine what it was like hearing bill read aloud your own text ‘apparently my ass has great aim’
your grandkids might not be impressed when you tell them, but we are!
enjoy your content🙏🙌👍🫡
@generalorthomd Walk the high line down to chelsea market for lunch. 'The play that goes wrong' is fun show if you want Broadway. My kids loved it. Have fun! Best time of year
@donnelly_brent Just got to this great read!
But man-this article is itself an ironic metaphor. Elites(author) labeling the Populists stupid (only capable of intuitive mental tasks/cant process higher cognition),enrages the masses. Condescending behavior creates adversarial response-->trump 2.0
