@Tim_Hannigan People relied on them too, but as new roads/cycle paths have been built, they've been added to online maps, getting more exposure, shifting people away from PRoWs. I also don't really see many new PRoWs being built so there are less of them in newer/more populous areas 2/2

@Tim_Hannigan Paper maps were used so much more. Everyone had OS or AA maps in the car (speaking for my family) so paths like these were more known about, got more use, were more visible (foliage), so more people saw and used them. 1/2
