@TP_OZ @Trish_Corry @StevenJMiles The point is that the criteria that both WA & QLD is an elimination strategy. It doesn’t work. The CHO will change her mind on what a hot spot is one month after the election. Otherwise QLD tourism economy will be irreparably damaged with the disposable income of Sydney.

@TP_OZ @Trish_Corry @StevenJMiles Tasmania is opening up to NSW on the 6th of November to all of NSW, and after the two week period of post lockdown, if Victoria’s cases don’t spike, will probably be an open border too. Not sure of your point.

If the tiny trickle of of successfully contained cases is keeping the border shut, then I really feel sorry for Tourism operators and the 1 in 4 QLDers who rely on Tourism. Their industry will be decimated

@Trish_Corry @StevenJMiles No one said the virus isn’t here, but when she says she is about suppression and not elimination, then locks 5 million ppl out of QLD due to a single case, something is amiss. The 28 day rule sounds like elimination to me.

@StevenJMiles Unfortunately, due to this baffling decision I will not be able to travel to QLD for my planned holiday. As I cancelled my accomodation the frustration in the voice of the employee, who had received a number of these calls was obvious. You are crippling your own people. Well done

@dalefraser @NSWHealth I think it’s because NSW is taking 650 overseas travellers a DAY, whereas the SA takes 600 a week & QLD the same. Why should our total numbers include all this heavy lifting, when QLD just refused 2 take more even though they have the hotel capacity & airport approvals in Cairns?

@StevenJMiles Instead of helping the country by offering 2 accept Aussies stranded overseas, the QLD Govt has shut the door on accepting more Aussies into Quarantine although you have the capability to do so. No leadership & breathtaking display of your lack of Aussie Spirit..... Pathetic.

This state based parochialism exposes how stupidly divided our country is. This closure plays well with the QLD electorate. That’s it. It’s not about safety, just votes. It’s pathetic!

@ShaneHarding @JayJay91341991 @Laballenarosa2 @NSWHealth 1 in 5 jobs in Cairns & 1/3 jobs in the Whitsundays are in Tourism. QLDers ain’t bringing those jobs back. But I guess because it’s a long way from from Brissy, it’s out of sight, out of mind, eh!?
