@tostaples @cameronmalakai and I talk about this all the tiiiiiiime. Developing deep friendships in adulthood is HARD. Especially after moving away from a solid base from another time in your life.
And still, bad things
It's a lot of bad things
That they wishin' and wishin' and wishin' and wishin'
They wishin' on me (and @ZaoMKE )
Tons of fodder for our #HateMail sermon series though 😃
@tracesoffaith I picked Jonah for myself as a nickname long before I had the language to say I was trans.
Then when I came out, I was grateful for all the biblical instances of folks faithfully changing their names as adults to honor who they had become.
@mwestramke @cameronmalakai Not sure how much crossover there is here, but the question of breaking relationship over Christian values is a near obsession now.
What's insidious about the calls to reopen you ask?
1. What population is facing the disparities in severe cases and deaths?
2. What demographic is predominantly essential?
3. Was there not a second wave predicted?
@aliciatcrosby I hear why getting input from other is important to you, but I also know that writing, faith, & spirituality are deeply personal. You’ve impacted people thus far by being true to yourself. The best @aliciatcrosby book I can imagine is the one that felt best & most honest to write
@aliciatcrosby @thatgaysianrev @cameronmalakai @cameronmalakai shares your 9w, I’ve got a 7w.
I totally see how (in you and in him) the 9w can temper some harshness from 8.
For me, it’s the 7ish curiosity & delight that helps keep me open to people/feelings beyond my own constant fight for justice.
@aliciatcrosby @thatgaysianrev I didn’t know you were an 8 (though it shouldn’t surprise)!
@cameronmalakai and I *both* are, which makes thing interesting & awesome.
@MapsCats @ZaoMKE @cameronmalakai Oh, for SURE. I know there are many who find it safer to explore @ZaoMKE and church and spirituality online in at home. You are in good company there, no doubt. #ChurchTrauma is real.
