@Entropiated1979 @AP Did you click the blue “second degree murder” link? It takes you to an article explaining GA § 16-5-1(d), which emphasizes “cruelty to children” in the process of causing death to another. “Used to kill children” specifies why dad is charged with Murder 2. No more, no less.
