Under the cover of darkness, at 4:30am, far-right members of the Louisiana state legislature just advanced a new gerrymandered map out of committee that 𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲’𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘀.
40,000 votes had been cast in the district's election but it didn't matter, they suspended the election via a 'State of Emergency' and told voters their votes were null. We have returned our state 125 years to the era of Jim Crow. With every generation I’m reminded how vile America has been to my people. This has nothing to do with political parties. This is a white racist attack to destroy the Black community’s political power.
