The Star of the Show
I am a regular viewer of the AppleTV show Ted Lasso. Like many others, I found this gem of television during the pandemic. Its authentic way of holding story through all its characters is a remarkable feat of writing and production.

The Abundance Dilemma
During my college and seminary days as a young twenty-something, I gave little thought to abundance or wealth. I went to school, both undergraduate and graduate, completely financed by my thrifty and frugal parents.

Roadmaps - The Beatitudes of Jesus (Matthew 5:1-12) offer a roadmap of Jesus life, death, and resurrection. More than any list of commandments, the teachings of Jesus invite us all to deeper reflection of the virtues we seek each day. The... https://t.co/F7xjvmNUqM
Persecution - Persecution is attractive to claim but difficult to endure. Followers of Jesus stand in a long line of those offered their all out of love and devotion to Christ. Life is sacred. All of it. “Blessed are those who have been... https://t.co/TjbDXbAHXe
Peacemaking - Peacemaking is not the same thing as fairness. A “fair” outcome is subjective depending on what side of a conflict we may ourselves. A better outcome is peace and reconciliation where relationships can be built and lives... https://t.co/iVKtCGbhLJ
Integrity - Purity in heart is about having a sense of integrity which informs our speech and actions. We each must learn the safety and skill needed to embrace authentic faith in Jesus. Fakers are increasingly easy to spot in a polarized... https://t.co/9rM3qIbkaK
Justice - Those filled with a sense of their own humility can better see the needs of others. Having a vision for righteousness and justice begins internally before it can find meaning outside of us. Taking positions is far too easy. Taking... https://t.co/VozXoN7rGJ

Expecting the Expected...And Sometimes the Unexpected
Our family just moved to Seattle from California.
Like so many others who are moving at this time of year, especially to a place where we lack familiarity, there are always some surprises.

The Journey Continues

Gratitude and Ministry
On January 17, 1981 I invited Jesus Christ to come into my life to lead it with love and grace. With me were five schoolmates who shared the story of Jesus with me for the first time. All of us were 13 years old.

Of Dreams & Visions
The Holy has an abundant dream for each human we meet today. May we pause for a moment in every encounter to seek that dream for others as well. We are each God’s child called to grace and bless the world.

Last year I started a project to support laity and pastors as they prepare for Sunday worship. "Passages" is a podcast bible study on texts in the weekly lectionary. You can find a directory of it on my website and also on most all podcast apps. https://t.co/kMssm41Zpg
The Light Shines
The light of Christ brings clarity for introspection, awareness of our calling, and vision to see the deep needs all around us. The virtue of integrity through God's Spirit allows us to hold all three of these together at the same time.
