Vajra Sentinel – Anti Drone Defence from Boardroom to Border

Operation Sindoor has fired up the Indian imagination. Gone were the days where battle would involve mobilizations that stretched across months, moving men and material to the border. The current day battlefield is a lot more agile. Asymmetric warfare is now the norm, and not the exception. The future belongs to those who can integrate battle ready intelligent machines, winning tactical manoeuvres leading to strategic goals.

There was a plethora of calls from our investors and well-wishers who wanted to know how Big Bang Boom was contributing and in response, we are putting out a redacted version of the Vajra Sentinel’s production journey. A lot of the video has been shot on mobile phones, and the interviews are unscripted, taken Pre-Operation Sindoor.

This started off as a concept, a simple jammer, demonstrated in a 500sqft boardroom which led to us winning an iDex project. 5 years of blood, sweat and toil later, we have now delivered a mil grade product that is protecting an area that is 100,000 times larger.
We have crossed numerous milestones, early design challenges, user trials, contracting, negotiations, rugged re-design, supply chain management, rigorous DGAQA testing, which itself included vendor vetting, ESS, EMI/EMC, pre-qualification and numerous other steps before the system was subjected to a pre dispatch inspection with officials from the Indian Airforce, the Indian Army, DGAQA and DGQA. Each step was exciting as it was challenging for us as we delivered our first systems.

There is no greater pride for us than to note that the final call to ship came amidst the buildup to the operation, in the background of a National Emergency. The dharma of a defence company is to serve our nation at the time of its need, and we were able to do the same in very small way. We are proud that our systems brought down threats aimed at our soldiers. We are proud that fearless engineers deployed in forward bases during the conflict collected data which will make our future systems even better.

In 5 years, we have come a long way. From a 2-person startup, we are now a 100-member team. From a single concept, we now have a huge R&D facility with 10 distinct product lines ranging from electronic warfare, artificial intelligence to nanotechnology. Our systems are no longer prototypes; our systems are now battle tested and multiple users have confirmed that our systems performed admirably.
Operation Sindoor was a clear testament to advantage of having indigenous tech companies and the resultant rapid scale up and adaptability.

We dedicate this to the bureaucrats who conceptualized the iDex, the programs such as Atmanirbhar Bharat; the law makers especially our PM Shri Narendra Modiwho gave it the will; and the Armed Forces whose beating heart is the foundation of our design.
