@SacBee_JoeD Great article. Thank you Joe for sharing the heart of our community and the love and support that our coaches and kids have for one another no matter what team we are on.
Looking forward to sharing my story with our Capital family tomorrow and through the month of June. The lessons of the Incarnation are still unfolding. #IncarnateBook

My experiences with homelessness in Sac have been embraced by our church community. On the 4th Sunday of every month, we distribute bags of food at our Grocery Giveaway. Our Men’s team has gone beyond our campus to the homeless camps just miles down the street. #Incarnatebook
“We quote this concept of Scripture all the time: Jesus “came and dwelt among us.” He lived with us. He understands us. He doesn’t lead with the do’s and don’ts. He says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” https://t.co/kURYmWew5E
“A man on the street advised me that homelessness was especially challenging — even dangerous — for women. Most homeless women, he said, will either find a man to partner on the street with, or a dog. “Most figure out,” he added, “a dog is better.” https://t.co/kURYmWew5E
“When everyone else rejects you, Jesus accepts you. When everyone else leaves you, Jesus finds you. When no one else wants you, Jesus claims you. When no one else will give you the time of day, Jesus will give you the words of eternity.” — @revrickcole
At our prayer meeting tonight Bill Chapin said, “we don’t need to give others a piece of our mind, we need to give them a piece of our heart.” That seemed on point and profound to me.
Pastor Rick & Cathy will be live on Wednesday at 7pm to reflect on gratitude in this season. Also, catch the video highlight as church members share what God is doing in their lives! Online on all our platforms.🍁 @revrickcole
Ephesians 2:10 reads, “We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny & the good works we would do to fulfill it!”TPT
I remain confident that one day I will reach my final destination where there will be no more pain, and no more sorrow. Love, joy and peace replaces our doubts and fears. We will all celebrate in His presence forever. Until then, I am so grateful for His oasis moments.
This is a special day in the life of our family. Nine years ago today, Izzy (Ireland) was born to our daughter, Laine, and son-in-law, Joe Alves. Every child is a gift from God and treasured by Him. Your child is no exception. Isaiah 41:10
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.”
Meditation means to ponder, imagine, dream and consider God’s ways. Let’s make the effort today to take some time and apply this discipline to blessing our city. What dreams might God inspire in your heart and mind?
