It's absolutely insane that it's totally "valid" for men to be afraid of other males in men's spaces but "transphobic" and "hateful" for women to be afraid of men in women's spaces.
Misogyny is real.
Hills I will gladly die on:
- men cannot become women
- telling a child he/she might be in the ‘wrong body’ is abuse
- transing a child in *any way* is abuse
- those who promote this dangerous bollocks to children (or make money from it) should be in jail
Helen Webberley uses every manipulation technique typical of an abuser. Never clearer than at the end of this where she begins to parrot @JuliaHB1 and diminish her status and intelligence.
This is why Julia HB is a phenomenal interviewer. She refuses this gaslighting behaviour at every turn. She doesn’t become upset or defend herself or back down. She pushes the truth.
It’s easy to spot if you’ve ever been in an argument with an abusive man. Webberley is skilled in the same devices. Even the DARVO “you’re very cruel”.
And she’s conning parents and kids. https://t.co/eAxAzVFHex
@JustMisogyny Completely exhausting. Just as it seems a corner is turning, there's always a ridiculous set back. I can't imagine how it must feel to be a woman (believe it or not...😂🙄🤡)
David Lammy’s proposals to restrict the right to jury trial have been examined by the Justice Committee of the House of Commons.
And. Well. Um.
It’s *quite* the report.
I think it’s actually worse than politely scathing.
It’s embarrassing 👇🏼🪡🧵
Top British attorney Natasha Hausdorff dismantled the Palestinian narrative with cold historical facts.
There was never a sovereign Arab state called “Palestine.” The British Mandate of Palestine was simply British administration over the historic Land of Israel after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
Jews lived continuously in the land for centuries — including under Ottoman rule, when they formed the majority in Jerusalem. Before 1909, Tel Aviv was empty desert legally purchased by Jews, who built it from nothing. No Arabs were displaced.
After the British handed the mandate to the UN, the Arab world rejected the partition plan and launched a war to destroy the Jewish state. Arab armies and local militias tried to “push the Jews into the sea.” At the same time, Arab countries ethnically cleansed their ancient Jewish communities, forcing nearly a million Jews to flee to Israel.
During the war, Arab leaders ordered local Arabs to evacuate combat zones so their armies could annihilate the Jews. Many of those who left later became permanent “refugees” under Egyptian and Jordanian control.
Israel has never committed genocide — and never will. By defending itself, it prevents another holocaust.
Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Islamic regime of Iran are the real obstacles to peace in the Middle East.
Retweet if you support Israel’s right to exist and defend itself.
The psychological abuse part of the trans rights movement, in my view, is this pattern:
Women say: “Male people have harmed us, we need boundaries.”
Then they are told: “Your boundary is hateful.”
Women say: “We need words for our sexed reality.”
Then they are told: “Your words are exclusionary.”
Women say: “We need privacy from male bodies.”
Then they are told: “Your discomfort is bigotry.”
That is a coercive loop. It takes women’s protective instincts and reframes them as moral defects. It turns self-defense into sin. Lovely little ideological trap.
Making women into demons the second men don’t like our boundaries is psychological abuse and DARVO.
Remember the guidance yesterday is only necessary because stonewall law was adopted & promoted over the actual law, males took rights, like being in women’s sports & bathrooms they didn’t have. Women have had to fight tooth & nail to get the law applied! Sex is binary & immutable
This is a lie. They demand access to women's changing rooms, women's toilets, women's prisons, hospital beds, mental health facilities, refuges, sports, women's everything. And now they have lost that argument they're threatening to hold their nose until they are blue in the face
Everyone agrees there should be gender neutral toilets for those who don't want to use the single sex toilets appropriate to their sex, but they don't want that. They want women to be forced to share with them. This is not a civil rights movement. It's a movement of bullying men.
Maeve was astounding. Serena Worley speaking from the floor likewise. Webberley was astounding per usual. She finished by claiming that everybody on the other side of the argument for her had blood dripping down their hands - remarkable when she's the one who's on the side of life-changing unevidenced drugs and surgeries that put children on the path to castration. It's always projection with these people. Buck Angel is a powerful speaker. The other three speakers were different varieties of smug, point-missing and useless. There was an unwittingly entertaining speech from the floor by a young woman who said that listening to The Archers as a child made her decide she was trans - first identifying as a boy and then when she registered that she wasn't very good at that (her words not mine) non-binary. As she admitted, most middle-class story ever.
lIf you do anything today, watch @MaeveHalligan at the Cambridge Union. I genuinely think this was the first time many people in that room were confronted with the hard reality of the trans debate, rather than the slogans that usually surround it.
@BuckAngel was exceptional: calm, articulate, humane. Ultimate respect.
And then there was Helen Webberley. I remember once thinking the criticism directed at her by GC women was excessive, especially the claim she was ‘pure evil’. After hearing her speak, I no longer think that. She is totally insincere. I can deal with hard ideologues- they believe they are telling the truth; they are genuine, @HelenWebberley is different.
One audience member, a trans-identified male and former patient of hers, stood to speak during points of information. His account of how he had been treated was deeply disturbing.
Watch the full debate. It is worth your time.
